The vast majority of Church Doctors, Church Fathers, and Popes supported the death penalty. Pope Leo XIV does not. Despite some people's mistaken understanding of the doctrine of Papal Infallibility, I am not obligated to agree with every word every Pope says, and am not obligated to agree with opinions, even ones held by high authority, that run counter to Church tradition. I doubt you actually care about Church doctrine, but you brought it up.

I don’t think the state should have a right to murder people. Your Catholic Church says the death penalty is wrong, and I agree.

I am challenging any death penalty opponent — there are millions of them, allegedly — to step up to the plate right now and explain why this guy should not be executed. His guilt is established beyond any doubt whatsoever. His crime is utterly savage and heinous. Tell us why he doesn’t deserve to die. Go ahead.

@MattWalshBlog I oppose the death penalty because giving the state power to take life invites abuse. Life without parole is a harsher, more reliable punishment, and, incidentally, is often more cost-effective. But hats off to you for using this girls life for cheap content.

So your point is that no one should be executed, no matter how heinous the crime and how conclusive the proof, because they could be innocent, but, also, this person who may be innocent will be frequently brutally assaulted by other inmates, so, no need to execute him, because incarceration is miserable enough. I think you need to re-think your position lol.

@MattWalshBlog People have been proven innocent after being put on death row, and innocent people have been killed by death penalty. I am not saying that this guy is innocent, but where do you draw the line? Life in prison is pretty bad for a child abuser or murderer I’m sure.
