I did read and saw that part, but the part about newbies being cringe dulled the luster for me. I get it, yes there are folks that are only here for the dopamine hit, there's no denying that.
This isn't my first rodeo in Fitness X lol. I lost over 150lbs from Jan '23 to Feb '24. When I got to my lowest weight of 282lbs, it felt more like a job posting my results vs sharing my wins.

These videos are so alien to me. Even after almost two decades of frequenting the gym I still find it cringy to record myself working out. I, of course, understand the desire to do so yet it all feels strange.
I started this journey at age 20, when I was so feeble I could barely bench two ten pound weights on each side of the bar. I was far too embarrassed to even enter a gym. I told myself, “work out every single day until we can at least bench one plate per side.” I worked out seven days a week in my basement for 6-8months in order to achieve this goal. No cameras, no progress pictures, just a burning desire to not be weak.
It was then, and only then, that I decided to enter the gym in the first place. After developing a home regiment and schedule that I religiously adhered to.
I’m sure there’s many ways to begin, but these videos from these types I have seen far too often. Seeking accolades and pats on the back before any real dedication is achieved. If it works for them, and they stay consistent, I am all for it. Just, more often than not, it’s the same spirit that got them to where they are in the first place: gratification seeking without proper effort and longevity. It’s choosing the cupcake and the couch over the curls.
I’m not seeking to attack the man I’m QT’ing as I truly hope he stays consistent and this method of early recording works for him. I only wish to transmit a message: be careful of the driving force behind such a desire, it may often be malicious in nature and counterproductive to longterm growth.
Good morning, I love you. 🫂

Here’s another beginner to clutter the X fitness landscape. Does two 10’s on each side count? 🤔😜 Leave people alone and let them lift. How do you expect people to get better while learning?
