Amazing progress on our volumetric system! :-)

@dbalthazr @h3r2tic It's also proven it's worth on high end ray tracing phones such as the S23 in a demo we did; the system has extremely nice scalability from phones to high-end desktop 🥳.

It's been quite a ride getting GI up to this point, though there's still many things to improve. A massive shoutout to @h3r2tic for providing lots of concepts in kajiya! In the blog we mainly go over some tradeoffs in quality vs performance, along with other visual improvements

@NOTimothyLottes @SaschaWillems2 Heh nice, I did this experiment a few years ago. Worked really well for read, not so much for write. Writing a page (or a few pages) after the end of the file to append didn't land on disk properly.

Frankly surprised: Got VkImportMemoryHostPointerInfoEXT mapping an address range from MapViewOfFile() to work on my AMD Vega iGPU laptop. GPU is storing direct to the file.
