Also, it is well worth noting that every Tesla car has a constant live feed into the operability and availability of each charging station and each individual stall. I can swipe around the map on the touch screen in my car (or in my Tesla phone app) and zoom in on any charging station I want anywhere in the entire country to see how many stalls are available. In the pic below, I just opened up my Tesla phone app, swiped to some random part of Virginia, and can see exactly how many stalls are available currently. In 5 minutes, I can go back to this same spot and it’ll likely be different. This constant live data is being fed to every Tesla vehicle all the time, and it allows the vehicle’s nav system to automatically plug in necessary charging stops on your road trip. All you have to do is plug in your destination address, and the nav does the rest. Even if you’re in the middle of your trip on the highway, and a charging station goes down/is too crowded, your Tesla automatically figures this out from the live data and will re-route you automatically. You don’t have to think at all. You don’t even have to know where superchargers are. The software handles all of this for you, and in my experience, it does so extremely accurately and without error. The people need to understand how badass these cars are!
