BREAKING: New evidence shows that Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito LIED in his ruling to gut the Voting Rights Act, using fake evidence from the Trump administration claiming that racism was over! An analysis by the Guardian reveals that MAGA Justice Alito, whose wife flew January 6th flags outside their home, copied “almost verbatim” a filing from the Trump administration that claimed that “the kind of discrimination that once made the Voting Rights Act necessary no longer exists.” Anyone who has ever set foot in the South can tell you that is 100% not true, and there is actual data to back that up. But that didn’t stop Alito from “Vast social change has occurred throughout the country and particularly in the South, where many Section 2 suits arise,” Alito wrote in a majority opinion in the case, which concerned Louisiana’s congressional map, joined by the five other conservative justices on the court. “Black voters now participate in elections at similar rates as the rest of the electorate, even turning out at higher rates than white voters in two of the five most recent Presidential elections nationwide and in Louisiana.” But the Trump DOJ study that “produced” this “evidence” “relied on a statistical methodology that is not preferred by experts in determining statewide voter turnout,” meaning they cooked the numbers to get what they wanted: data that could be used to justify stripping political power away from Black communities and instituting Jim Crow 2.0. Republicans began doing so immediately, redrawing districts in Tennessee, Alabama, and Louisiana to dilute the power of Black votes and enact one-party Republican rule, and of course it is all based on fake numbers because nothing matters except the pursuit of power and the punishment of nonwhite minorities. The Supreme Court is a fundamentally broken institution. Our democracy should not be held hostage by six unelected right-wing bigots who never face any consequence or accountability for their actions. “Lying in a legal briefing would get you disbarred as a regular lawyer. But when you’re an unelected, lifetime appointee with powers to write decisions that completely undo & remake the Constitution, the decision gets to stand & you get to keep your lifetime position. Outrageous!” raged civil rights lawyer Scott Hechinger on Twitter. Once we take back Congress and the Senate, we need to abolish the filibuster, pack the court, and go scorched earth on the Republican Party. Because if we don’t, they’ll do it to us – and then we’ll be subjected to one party-rule forever.

This past Thursday, I spent the morning at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit. I was there to hear the arguments in my lawsuit against Pete Hegseth for violating my First Amendment rights. I appreciate that the court made this case a priority because it has a significant impact on the First Amendment rights of over 2 million retired servicemembers. This case matters. Let me tell you what also matters. Right now, we have servicemembers putting their lives at risk because this President took our country to war against Iran without a strategic goal or a plan. Because of his reckless decision, parents can’t afford the gas to drive their kids to school, people can’t afford to drive to work and seniors can’t afford to drive to their doctor’s appointments. Millions of Americans can’t afford rent, healthcare, and in many cases food. As this President builds his new gilded ballroom, upgrades his new plane, builds his arch, and works on his next business deal that personally enriches him and his family, the American people continue to suffer. I didn’t vote for Donald Trump but after he was elected I wanted him to succeed and I hoped that as President he would at least try to make some things better. Instead he kicked millions of Americans off of their healthcare and took away free lunches for kids in order to deliver a tax cut to millionaires and billionaires. And recently Donald Trump has asked Congress for $1.5 trillion for next year's defense budget. That is more than double of what it was in my first year in the Senate just 5 years ago. It is nearly the amount that all other countries combined spend on defense. And this is for a department that is being managed by the least qualified secretary of defense in our country’s history. Where will this money go? Some of it will be used to fund the President’s top priorities like Golden Dome, an idea that Donald Trump, a real estate developer, had after seeing the success of Israel’s Iron Dome system, which is essentially a point defense system. That’s very different than what he envisions, which is a shield against all ballistic and hypersonic missiles. I understand the physics of the challenge of intercepting hypersonic missiles in space or in the glide phase and it looks like they will spend hundreds of billions of dollars building a system that will not work. And even worse some of this money will certainly go to companies that Donald Trump’s sons have recently invested in. The corruption in and around this President and his friends and family is almost unimaginable in its scale and scope. We have real problems that are being ignored and others that aren’t being addressed with a reasonable and rational approach. The top 1% of the wealthiest Americans now own more of our collective wealth than the middle class and if you are in the middle class you often can’t afford your life because this President and others in Washington DC have passed laws to give your money to them. It didn’t start with this President, but my hope is that perhaps it ends with him. We have to get this country back on track. We have to pass policies that help hard working Americans so that their hard work pays off for them, not for someone else. We have to address our country’s growing debt and we have to find solutions that will improve people's lives. Whether it is the outrageous cost of health care or the fact that young people can’t afford homes and young families can’t afford childcare — there are solutions to these problems. Corruption, cronyism, and a system designed to help the very few at the expense of the many is a significant challenge but it isn’t an insurmountable one.

TAYLOR: NATO should be very interested in having Ukraine join. Ukraine has shown that it can stop Russians. That proves Ukraine can do exactly what NATO is designed to do: stop, deter, and fight Russians if they attack. So NATO would be much stronger with Ukraine as a member.

This isn’t the first time Alito used inaccurate data to base important decisions. They think we’re too stupid to notice or care. 🚨Alito used inaccurate data to rule on the recent voting rights decision. 🚨Alito did the same when ruling on dobbs in 2022. 🚨Alito did the same when determining the safety of Mifepristone in 2024. 🚨Alito is also the creep who flew our flag upside down after Trump failed his Jan 6 insurrection — and then blamed his wife. ‼️This should scare the hell out of everyone! 🔥GET INVOLVED AND LET’S TROUNCE THE MAGA PARTY IN NOVEMBER! #MagaMath #SCOTUSIsCorrupt

I saw this video on Viola Davis' instagram this morning and everyone needs to see it. The gutting of the VRA is the most significant attack on ALL civil rights in America in my lifetime, and after they already came for the women.. We better wake the fuck up. None of us is safe:

ICYMI, Chief Justice John Roberts wrote the talking points for a memo which sought to gut the Voting Rights Act—for Reagan, in 1982. It has been his lifelong project to disenfranchise Black people. Very, very tired of racist old white men dragging us backwards.

There's an obvious reason why the Republican Supreme Court Justices sound so nervous. During their confirmation hearings, these justices sat under oath and promised that Roe v. Wade was settled law. They lied. They told us they were independent. Then they quietly accepted luxury mega-yacht vacations from right-wing billionaires, flew insurrectionist flags outside their homes, and used shadow dockets to dismantle decades of worker and environmental protections. Now, trying to persuade the public that a Republican-controlled Court issuing Republican-friendly decisions is not a Republican body has never been more difficult. Now that their public approval has cratered, they are showing up to fancy think tanks to complain that Americans are being unfair to them. They are desperately demanding to be treated like impartial umpires who simply call balls and strikes. But, ultimately, you do not get to strip away the bodily autonomy of millions of women, pocket millions in undisclosed gifts from conservative mega-donors, and then cry about a lack of respect.
