One day we realized we had a rat in our food pantry. There was the classic hole in the wall & everything. We set a trap, and were alerted that it had gone off by the dogs going nuts. Wife and I went downstairs and the trap had the sewer rat by the tail. If it had been a native rat I might have spared it, but nope. I got a frying pan and, while my wife screamed and quaked, gave the rat one good blow. Blood spattered. Wife shrieked. I had saved the family home from the intruder. Never have I felt so manly. I don’t know why I’m saying this but we kept pet rats for years and loved them. But the same traits making them good pets (eat anything, cunning, adaptable) also make them fearsome pests. Anyway no bubonic plague in MY neighborhood.

You’re telling me one of the region’s strongest trainers only has mid-40s Pokémon… when the Elite Four is sitting at Lv 60+? • Larry: In Scarlet/Violet, Larry is BOTH a Gym Leader and an Elite Four member. As a Gym Leader he uses a pathetically weak Normal-type team. At the Elite Four he switches to a high-level Flying-type team. Same man. Two completely different power levels depending on his shift for the day. The game literally shows you he’s holding back. • The Confession: In Black 2 & White 2, Cheren (the first Gym Leader) straight-up says the Gym Leader job is tough because “If I had my usual partners…” - admitting he can’t use his real competitive team against new trainers. • The System: They stand in a building waiting for kids to walk in, use mono-type teams that are easy to counter. • The Real Challenge: Notice the Champion is the only fight with a full balanced multi-type team. Everything before that was staged. Every badge you earned was handed to you. The system was designed so you’d pass. You weren’t being tested - you were being trained. Does this change how you see every Gym battle?

I’ve noticed a pattern; when a decent game comes out that expects you to be curious, to be observant and to pay attention, a lot of tourists-turned-reviewers are the first to rage quit, refund, or low-grade that game. Some games aren’t for everyone, but I’m starting to think the pattern is made pretty clear by those who say they don’t like yellow paint, but absolutely need it.

I’ve played only 2 hours of Crimson Desert and here are my thoughts so far. +Game is absolutely stunning and probably one of the most detailed open worlds ever created +The game really doesn’t hold your hand but thats a huge plus - Having to position yourself to talk to someone or be in a specific spot to activate the animation/action can be annoying as the button prompt doesn’t show otherwise - Lip syncing isn’t good +Combat is excellent even though the dodge doesn’t feel as responsive but I have only done one big battle which was at the start of the game so this could easily and probably will improve as I upgrade and get used to the combat more +Side missions and secrets seem to be everywhere,you can listen in to learn something new. A bird can fly onto your shoulder with a letter to learn about something happening in the world which I thought was really neat. If you want a packed open world with a lot to do this game is for you. +Puzzles are great so far, just the right level of difficulty - Movement when jumping and running is extremely slow and not responsive, having to press square whilst mashing x to run at the same time was annoying and makes for the platforming sections to become frustrating +Movement is hard to get used to at first but after an hour or so it’s fine, think RDR2 in terms of how your character moves it’s almost exactly the same I can’t stress this enough, these are MY OWN THOUGHTS after only 2 HOURS of playing, all of this could change as I play more. This is just to tell people who are on the fence a little bit more information after actually playing it.

I don't really have anything against this version of Supergirl. It may not be everyone's speed, but there are some narrative possibilities. And hey, it's got Lobo! However, one thing that bugs is that tagline "Truth. Justice. Whatever." which might be clever if they had actually ever once referenced the original in a non-mocking fashion at any point in the last several decades. Did they say "Truth, Justice, The American Way" in Superman? No. They didn't. Did they say it in "Man of Steel"? No. They didn't. They find the phrase embarrassing. And so this joke doesn't land it's just more of them being embarrassed by the country that gave them opportunity to crap on it like they do. In any case, tell me what you think.
