This is not just a user error; it's a stark reminder that tech must prioritize protection over speed. More work ahead to make crypto truly safe for all holders. #Cardano #usda

⚡️ LATEST: A five-year Cardano holder accidentally lost 90% of $6.9M in ADA, turning it into just 847K worth of $USDA stablecoin after using a highly illiquid trading pool. How did this costly mistake happen? 👀

I kicked my 26 year old girlfriend out of my Manhattan apartment in the middle of the night because I had just learned that she cheated on me with multiple men. I gave her time to carefully pack her things and get dressed, then I made her leave. She took an Uber home roughly 40 minutes from my doorman-staffed lobby to her home in the suburbs.
She says it was shitty of me to kick her out in the middle of the night, that it's unsafe for a woman, that her dad was very upset at me and her girlfriends all think I should have at least let her stay until the morning.
Here's my question: who are you most excited to see at the Midnight summit on Nov 17-18?

Umbra - a Latin word for "shadow," nodding to the data shielding core of Midnight. Short, mythic, and implies you're the unseen guardian force. #Midnight #carda

What should we call a Midnight Community Member? I'm thinking of calling the collective community the Midnight Syndicate

What I find really interesting about Midnight is how far ahead it is with its dual-token model. It separates value and utility in a way that just makes sense. NIGHT is the tradable token that holds value and generates DUST, while DUST is the resource used to power transactions on the network. According to the Midnight whitepaper, DUST can’t be transferred between addresses and it decays once it becomes disconnected from the NIGHT that generated it. This makes it a pure utility resource which is ideal for private, compliant transactions without creating a tradable privacy coin. (Regulation becomes extra simple in my opinion here).
Ethereum simply can’t enable a system like this at its base layer. Its entire architecture is built around ETH, which is serving as both the asset of value and the gas that powers computation. Separating those roles would mean rewriting core protocol logic and breaking existing contracts and assumptions while surely adding extra complexity. Midnight, on the other hand, built privacy, compliance, and economic sustainability into its foundation from day one.
It’s already ten steps ahead, and trying to copy that later would only expose how far behind others really are. It’s not launching a "privacy layer" when it becomes trendy, which is the exact impression Ethereum is giving me. It’s years of deliberate design to make privacy, compliance, and utility work together from the start. This is the homework that cannot just be copied or marketed.

The Ethereum Foundation latest blog reads like Midnight. Selective disclosure, enterprise support, ZK. Midnight is 6 years ahead, cross-chain, and is 4th generation with dual token model + multi-consensus. 🚀 #Cardano
