With 19 seconds on the shot clock, this is actually an atrocious shot selection by Wemby with everything on the line. People don't realize shots from this range is mostly ineffective unless you are Steph Curry. The defense reacts to Curry from out there because they know he can keep doing it. If you can move the defense because it's scared of you shooting a 35-footer, then the possibilities become endless, but as long as the defense doesn't react with any regularity - it never has and never will for anyone not named Curry - this is just a bold and a highly questionable shot. Imagine the criticism if Wemby missed this shot. That said, it was incredible shot-making and ridiculously clutch, so hats off to Wemby for the conversion. Shockingly good.

THROWBACK: When #49ers Trent Williams made a dirty block in the back on #Cowboys LB Leighton Vander Esch… essentially ended his pro football career. 😳 One of the most controversial plays of the decade.

@ArtOfDialogue_ You never hear/see the STARS of shows residual checks…it’s always the guest appearance guys or the non-stars. Their percentage is on the low end or they only get residuals from the episodes they appeared in 🤷🏾‍♂️

“TV n**ggas are broke.” Michael Blackson shows off the residual checks he received in the mail from TV shows like Wild ’N Out and more, and says just because people are on TV doesn’t mean they’re rich. (🎥 Michael Blackson/IG)

I watched AAU basketball all weekend. I left with bad news for most players: Too many are building highlight reels before they’re building winning habits. The game ends. They lose. And before they’ve watched film or owned what needs to change… The post is already up. The highlight clip. The posed photo. Everyone wants exposure. But exposure doesn’t fix bad shot selection. It doesn’t make you defend. It doesn’t teach you how to impact winning. The camera should document the work. It shouldn’t become the reason for the work.

There will be a lot of programs who overthink the idea of ‘27 Ian Condon, but the way he impacts winning & his improved floor-spacing ability is going to make the right staff look really smart. S2: 22.5PPG 52.4 FG% 47.6 3P ‼️ (21 attempts) 83.3FT% 11.3RPG

The spreadsheet math on this is brutal. She left roughly $54 million on the table. Yet she probably just made the best financial decision of her life. $1M in an S&P 500 index fund at age 20 compounds to approximately $58M in inflation-adjusted terms by age 80. The historical real return is about 7% annually over 97 years of data. Her annuity pays $52,000 a year. Over 60 years that totals $3.1M. The gap is 18x. Every finance account in these replies will tell you she's wrong. The compounding math is clear. Take the lump sum, put it in VOO, don't touch it for 60 years. The Certified Financial Planner Board says roughly a third of lottery winners declare bankruptcy within five years. Illinois court records show 28% of winners who won $50K or more went bankrupt in the same window. The average winner spends 60% of their winnings on family and friends in the first two years. She's 20. Peak impulsivity, minimal financial literacy, and every person she's ever met just found out she has a million dollars in her checking account. The $1M doesn't go into a Vanguard account. It goes into the most socially pressured spending environment a human being can occupy. $1,000 a week is a permanent $52K salary, tax-free in Canada, that arrives whether she makes good decisions or catastrophic ones. Can't be drained by a partner. Can't be lost to a scam. Can't be "invested" in a cousin's restaurant. Shows up every Friday for the rest of her life. The spreadsheet says lump sum by 18x. The data on what actually happens to people who receive $1M at 20 says she just bought the most expensive insurance policy in lottery history, and it was worth every dollar she gave up.
DividendBoomer@BoomerDivvies

An 20-year-old Canadian girl won $1M (tax free in Canada) in the lottery and chose $1,000/week instead of the lump sum. Is this wise or the worst financial decision of her life? What are you doing when this happens to you??

It is just mind-boggling how much the media and the league are pushing players who don't move the needle to be the face of the league. It is really pathetic to see this continue into year 3 of the Caitlin Clark era. Instead of embracing a once-in-a-lifetime change and prospering from it...they have proven that they would rather have this league remain in obscurity and lose whatever momentum they had gained through her just to hoist up their own false "ideal" face. Just sad...
