@willow1886 Had the privilege to see two greats on The Famous Highbury pitch: Geordie Armstrong & Johan Cruyff!

@GoonerGimli It was. First 25 minutes on top but never pushed on! Then that mistake by Kepa gave them the confidence and we couldn’t get back into it. Should’ve made changes much earlier!

Arsenal fans crying about that loss are the same ones who woke up at 5 a.m. to post about how Mikel Arteta has never lost a final at Wembley as both player and manager.
You thought we were going to play Burnley?
There’s a strange cult around Arteta where every criticism is treated like blasphemy. If you want to judge a manager, look at what he delivers with minimal resources-then give him money, expectations, and a time limit. On that scale, managers like Vincent Kompany, Oliver Glasner, Ange Postecoglou, Hansi Flick and Luis Enrique have done a better job in the last four years than Mikel. But some Arsenal fans aren’t ready for that conversation.
People forget something simple: foreplay doesn’t impregnate a woman.
This was our first final in six years. Pain like this is part of the journey. Infact , I expect us to reach several finals and lose painfully;
Lose an FA Cup final with the last kick of the game.
Lose a Champions League final from a scrappy set-piece.
Because champions aren’t built with comfort.
They’re built with scars,not vibes.
Scars etched into memory .
Scars that make you want the trophy more than the applause.
Today the setup was simple: play conservative football. But that raises a deeper question about mentality.
How do you set up not to lose, when you haven’t even scored first?
So thank you to Manchester City for cooling the quadruple talk.
Thank you for reminding Arsenal that nothing is done until it’s done.
There’s still a trip to the Etihad Stadium coming.
We might win or lose the league there.
Either way, that’s where the truth will show itself. And I'm hoping the psychological ripple effect of this L won't be consequential.

That first miss by Kai Harvertz was a bad omen. Our inability to make a statement in the first twenty minutes of the game was what cost us the game.
But the fact that Kai was able to see a chance to squander is even a feat more brilliant than not seeing it at all. That's where Gyokores comes into the picture.
Where was Gyokeres?
Our purported savior —the missing piece of the puzzle? If Arsenal do not go into the market in search of a striker that can turn up in games he's needed most, forget it. Our decline will start from next season. Gyokores is that forward that can never take us forward. He's meant for small league and only good in small games.
Trossard was allowed to overstay his welcome. Was thinking Arteta would yank him out when City started to press us hard after uncovering we could do them no harm. But no, he was allowed to almost see the game through. That's on you Mikel.
Saka, is there a player out there that doesn't know your next move? Seems every player have now mastered your moves, your intentions and what you're capable of doing. Something needs to change.
We missed Eze so badly. Hope it wasn't just a tactical stunt. Because if it was, then it's the reason I'm drenched in the perspiration of agony. I won't forgive.
The Rice-Zubimendi-Kai trio didn't end well for us. The only advantage it bestowed upon us was aerial superiority due to Harvertz's height but of what use was all of the aerial duels Kai won when there's no one to benefit from them? That's a trio for small games.
The midfield was absolutely devoid of creativity and ability to shoot. What message would this send to the ever-loquacious Rodri that's notorious for mocking your mentality?
Hincapie did well for someone that's marking Semenyo with yellow for most part of the game.
Gabriel and Saliba were solid in the first half. Making Haaland their prime target was what gave O'Reilly the opportunity to harm us. Ben White tried. Saliba was brilliant but had no helper.
It's an honorable decision by Mikel to allow Kepa finish what he started. Yes, but he cost us the first goal that encouraged City to come for more.
Manchester City came into the game with tank full of respect for Arsenal, for what they've so far achieved this season only for Arsenal to show them that they're are still that same Arsenal they, City, used to beat with no sweat. Nothing changed. Same old mentality of crumbling when a ninety minutes of world-class performance is all that's required of them.
This is not how champions behave.
The fact that we're so useless especially in the second half of the game, Arteta not subbing in players at the right time to change the game and losing to the same City every Harry, Dick, Tom and Jerry is beating, are my biggest negatives.
I'm utterly disappointed.
So sad that in the night of our coronation we discovered that the king ain't dead.

Fair fucks, City had their game plan spot on. Their press totally stopped Arsenal from playing out. Disappointed with how passive manager and players were in response at the beginning of the second half. Needed a tweak to positioning when playing out but there wasn’t one, just kept playing into the jaws of death until the inevitable happened.

Well done @ManCity Outplayed us bar 10mins at start. Not surprising with our team that started...a team for a final not to win a trophy. Eze a massive blow for us & our squad quality really exposed. But congrats to City. Arteta & team cant afford any more games like this one😪
