You know what really annoys me about some of this DSA movement? I can post something as a Black American, a Democratic voter who has voted in every election, and someone who actually works to elect Democrats, and if I disagree with one of their candidates of choice, here they come: “Why don’t you want people to have healthcare?” “Why are you a capitalist shill?” Just complete nonsense. Because if this were truly about advancing these policies, the strategy would be addition. You would be trying to elect MORE members of Congress who support your agenda. But that is not what we are seeing in this cycle. We are seeing replacement. They are overwhelmingly targeting Democratic incumbents in deep-blue districts, particularly where low-turnout primaries create an opportunity to win. They are not putting the same energy into recruiting candidates who can flip Republican-held seats or win competitive districts and actually add votes to the Democratic column. And here is the math they seem determined to ignore: You cannot pass universal healthcare, expand the social safety net, protect voting rights, or enact any other supposedly revolutionary or liberating policy without the votes to do it. That requires a majority. Replacing one Democrat with another Democrat in a safe blue seat may change one vote within the caucus. It does not give you another vote toward the 218 needed to control the House. If you want your policies to become law, at some point your political movement has to be about addition. Noise is not a congressional majority. Virality is not a vote on the House floor. And ideological purity is not public policy.

@magi_jay Older black voters just listen to whatever the TV says like most old voters ever. Carrot and stick. Read any poll ever of young black voters and you can see the gap. Abdul is going to win young black voters easily.

Black voters and Black leaders have spent the last decade explaining why they do/do not support specific candidates. I don't know that you can get any clearer than “I know Joe. We know Joe. But most importantly, Joe knows us." The case is closed. People just aren't listening.
