Welcome Coach Johnson Reggie Johnson was the inside linebackers coach at UNT, played at Louisville in 1996, and joined the UNT staff in 2024. Johnson also followed Cassity to UNT from Sam Houston, so the continuity piece is strong with this hire as well. Johnson was the D-Coordinator at UAB in 2012-2013, and was also the D-Coordinator at Alabama A&M in 2014 & 2015. Beyond his DCoordinator stints and his time at SHU and UNT, Johnson has coached at Louisville, Missouri State, UTEP, Arkansas, Western Kentucky, and  Purdue. So, he would bring a TON of experience and ties to parts of the country that OSU doesn’t normally recruit. Oklahoma State is expected to hire North Texas’ Skyler Cassity as its defensive coordinator, sources tell me and @chris_hummer. In his one season as North Texas’ DC, led the way as the team improved from 13th in the American in total defense last year to fourth this season.
