@StarWraith @Toniki20 La única solución que se me ocurre que podría aliviar esa tensión es una mecánica de matchmaking inteligente que tenga en cuenta un perfil de cada jugador para emparejarlos de forma que minimice el conflicto. Pero quien sabe si eso soluciona algo, y aumentaría el tiempo de cola

@StarWraith @Toniki20 Si asumimos que es imposible mejorar "la calidad de los randoms", creo que literalmente es imposible hacer un shooter por equipos que sea profundo e interesante que a la vez no sea insufrible de jugar con randoms. Maximizar la diversión con randoms es hacerlo hyper-casual.

@APP6514 @IrisShaders @redaction great! would be nice to also see them take a crack at drastically increasing render distance. i wouldnt be surprised if 4x render distances were possible with just a bit of renderer refactoring.

@IrisShaders @redaction i have never used Java, i dont claim to know. i can agree that minecraft is in part slow because it is written in Java, its also in part slow because of the history of how the game was first made and how it has been maintained. It is still true that it wastes too much CPU power.

@TrezzeG @redaction okay at this point you’re just saying words. In Java, “SIMD” is not possible (yet) manually; however, Java does an *okay* job of adding it in for you. “SOA” is irrelevant because structs are not (yet) a concept in Java. They’ve been doing quite a lot of data optimization…

@IrisShaders @redaction thats true, it is also true that minecraft is very poorly optimized. its obviously very CPU bound. and if i had to guess theres probably close to 0 data oriented optimizations in minecraft's world generation and draw call system. im guessing they dont do a lot of SOA, SIMD, etc.

@TrezzeG @redaction You’re correct, however, what everyone misses is that Minecraft is *not* a voxel game, or a voxel renderer. Any fancy techniques to render voxels are impossible in Minecraft because Minecraft blocks can be any model, not just cubes.

@IrisShaders @redaction do you think the fact that i am personally unable to do it proves that my claim about it being possible is wrong? the reason i said it was is because voxel renderers that are orders of magnitude faster do in fact exist. Im not saying that mojang are capable of implementing it.

@IrisShaders @redaction making voxel rendering engines that can render voxels at a much higher resolution and on a much higher render distance than how Minecraft runs today is pretty trivial, especially if you just target pc. Minecraft could run at least 10 times better if the game was engineered well.

@redaction The problem isn't that you want that; everyone wants it. The problem is that it's not nearly as simple as it sounds. Distant Horizons (the old mod) runs on all platforms, but looks pretty ass and has networking issues; Voxy works only on more modern cards.

@el_yuste_ no vas a poder controlarlo para siempre, si alguien realmente quiere usar la IA para algo malo creeme que lo tendrá y lo tiene ya muy facil. lo que tiene que pasar es que la gente sea mas critica y recurra a herramientas capaces de detectar indicios de IA cuando sea relevante.

@artbytav the quad overdraw in that mesh will be crazy. you can always just tile a 128x128 (or more) texture the size of one of those links on a single quad for the whole fence.

Not too long ago, it would have been crazy to model every chain link in a fence for a game instead of using an alpha mask. Thanks to instancing tech, this makes more sense now & is more performant/efficient in my scene. It also replaces three 4k textures and an Alpha mask.

Huge thanks to Riot for working with me to make this happen. They wanted what’s best for players, and that’s for us to eventually play the game. This game has always been close to my heart, and I’m excited to bring it back home. Real talk: Hytale isn’t some polished AAA release waiting in the wings. It’s messy. It’s janky. And there’s a lot of work to be done. My plan? Get it out to you as soon as possible. No more waiting. You’ll get to play it, rough edges and all. It won’t be perfect on day one. My hope is that together, we’ll shape it into something truly special. Thanks for believing in Hytale. Time to get to work. Follow @Hytale for updates.
