Most Web3 projects don’t fail because of technology. They fail because of operations. After 15 years working in operations and 6 years in Web3, I keep seeing the same three mistakes: 🧭no market validation 🧭no execution plan 🧭operational chaos @stragys/why-do-strong-web-3-ideas-fail" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">paragraph.com/@stragys/why-d…

@byobu4 I think there's many reasons and one of them can be VC influence, but it's a power law dynamic that plays out in circumstances. It's not inevitable, but it's the path of least resistance, imo.

I'm not sure if the reason is what Trigs says - that traditional VC pathways lock you into this and there's no escape. But the pattern is undeniable.

When talk about the toxic playbook, I describe it as: we can never escape power laws. Whether it's meme, tokens, or how power gets distributed, you always end up with 80% of resources in 20% of hands. Everyone else in DAO becomes cannon fodder, sheep getting eaten by wolves

Why do projects with noble intentions keep ending up in the same toxic playbook? "Once on the incumbent system's rails, you end up in the same place: meme token or meme token with extra steps." - @BryanPetes Last week we explored this and more: x.com/i/spaces/1jMJg…

@Trigs_0 We should talk a little about OPSEC today. Recent hacks prompt a discussion of best practices in web3 imho. Not DAO specific, but oh so important.

Last week: - Why projects keep degrading into toxic playbooks. - Why DAOs should prioritize conflict resolution. - How we avoid vs. resolve tension. This week: New ideas, open discussion. x.com/i/spaces/1YpJk…

@kyngkai909's reframe: What if we looked at DAOs as conflict resolution systems, not just governance tools? Early DAO tooling showed this pattern. Focus on dispute resolution first - coordination follows. No conflict? You hardly need DAO tech. x.com/i/spaces/1jMJg…
