@libraryleadpipe I hope varying viewpoints are considered when developing the policy. I was in art school in the '00s, and the same conversations went on around digital media versus traditional mediums. All art students reference the works of the masters to learn technique and composition.

We have seen social media concerns raised about an author disclosing use of an AI-generated decorative image in a recent article. At the time of the article's publication, the Board did not have any policy or guidelines about the use of generative AI. (1/3)

@libraryleadpipe The feeling isn’t universal, but many graphic designers, like myself (I have a BFA and have worked in the field), are excited about AI-generated art and how it expands our capabilities to express ourselves. Please talk to artists and designers in the field; opinions vary.

One voice should not dictate the policy of an entire organization. I have a BFA in graphic design and worked professionally in the field. I'm still involved with design, and many artists are excited about AI. All artists reference the works of others. That's how we learn.
