@amitylee13 @LPNational Problem is, some of them *are* the state or love it more than they love the rest of us.
English

@NsfwRoh @corymassimino Nah, taking money from fascists shows that you do not follow libertarian philosophy. Engaging in politics shows that you do not follow libertarian philosophy. Ad hom is not an argument.
English

@TrioloLuke @corymassimino Yes you are. It shows libertarians operate in the real world and follow their actual philosophy. Being irrelevant other than fetishists and furries shows the LP is not serious.
English

I dunno, I think complaining about a man assaulting a woman in the same breath as complaining about someone who dresses funny just means you don't really know anything about the whole non-aggression thing.
DL Cummings (LibertyDad)@libertydadpod
If the Libertarian Party had a culture of excellence attendees wouldn't swipe handfuls of promo material, men wouldn't assault women over taking said materials, the eccentric wouldn't dress unprofessional, and members would not be defend those who did. No regrets not attending.
English

@NsfwRoh @corymassimino No it wouldn't. It would show people that libertarians are not serious about their philosophy. Which, of course tracks for the LP and any "libertarian" involved in politics.
English

@TrioloLuke @corymassimino You need money in the world. And $100M from Musk, Thiel, or Bezos would do far more than convincing 500 hookers and posting on X
English

@TrioloLuke @corymassimino He's not there and he's never worn business casual to anything. He's fucking trolling everyone Jesus Christ
English

@NsfwRoh @corymassimino We don't need money from people who don't get the philosophy.
English

@TrioloLuke @corymassimino Let's get the respect of furries, fetishists and hooker. Let's avoid people with money.
English

@Gnome4308 The ones who voted nota or the ones who voted for you? ;)
English

I would personally like to thank each of the five retarded delegates

Most federal appeals courts have recognized the right to record police.
DHS employees nevertheless seem to view it as a crime.

@TrioloLuke @burnthalies @MentisWave Anarchy is the house at the end of the road of libertarianism. Just like Socialism is the road leading to the house of communism. But the ideology of libertarianism still recognizes some semblance of a state.
English

One of my biggest redpills was finding out just how many people do not understand this.
They actually think infinity free stuff to infinity uneducated third worlders could work if we just tax the rich more or something.
These people number in the hundreds of millions.
Milton Friedman Quotes@MiltonFriedmanW
“You cannot simultaneously have a welfare state and free immigration.” — Milton Friedman
English

@FreedomFactor76 @burnthalies @MentisWave Obviously the party is not anarchic. But anarchism is the purest form of libertarianism.
English

No it's not. Anarchism is anarchism. Libertarianism, as an ideology, is close, but not quite all the way over to anarchism. Especially the party origin, in which it operates with the bounds of a free-market capitalist society such as the United States, under a Representative Constitutional Republic.
English

@FreedomFactor76 @burnthalies @MentisWave Actually, yes, libertarianism is anarchism.
What if you made an argument then?
English

@TrioloLuke @burnthalies @MentisWave Libertarianism ≠ Anarchism.
And what if I told you that anarchism sounds good on paper, but doesn't actually work in reality?
English

@PigSneezeSplat @burnthalies @MentisWave I'm an anarchist not a sovereign citizen. The state is illegitimate. The fact that a lot of people support it and that it has power over me, does not grant it legitimacy.
English

@TrioloLuke @burnthalies @MentisWave The state is legit because that's how our society is. I don't get how that's so hard to understand. Just because *you* don't think it is doesn't mean the millions of other people in the nation agree with you.
Congrats, you're a wannabe sovereign citizen.
Glad we came to that.
English

@allisgood007 100% of men. Having T is a definitional feature. ;)
English

@PigSneezeSplat @burnthalies @MentisWave I have not done so. His position is incorrect and not at all hard to understand.
English

@TrioloLuke @burnthalies @MentisWave It's fine to disagree with the OP. It's baffling when you speak as if you couldn't comprehend OP's points on open borders in the first place.
English

@PigSneezeSplat @burnthalies @MentisWave "It baffles me that you would post on a thread when you disagree with the OP" Another insane take.
English

@TrioloLuke @burnthalies @MentisWave It baffles my mind that you're posting on a MentisWave post and you don't even seem to understand his stance on borders and why the correct stance libertarians should take is a closed border. I got it here in case it didn't show up in your feed.

English

@PigSneezeSplat @burnthalies @MentisWave Thats power (might) not authority. Let's go back, because you're either a goldfish or a liar. You stated that the state is legit because of the social contract. You then backed up the reality of the contract by stating that the state will kill me for disobeying. Do keep up.
English

@TrioloLuke @burnthalies @MentisWave No, you said "the state has no authority" and I pointed out that, breaking the law has a consequence enacted by the state, which invalidates your ridiculous claim that the state has no authority. I don't understand how you got "might makes right" out of "consequences of actions".
