@JeffBarnes52 This coaching thing is harder than it looks . Guys like that get their ass best . Every position requires knowing what the hell you are talking about . If you don’t ask , the guy on your staff will teach you. The game will humble you quickly .

As a former OL and OL coach, nothing is better than a QB/OC/WR guy drawing up a blocking scheme and saying, “just block it up.” “Just” block it up. Right… because angles, footwork, leverage, hand placement, communication, and post-snap movement don’t matter. That’s like me drawing a route and telling a QB, “just throw it there, I don’t see why it’s hard.” There’s a difference between calling it and coaching it. A big one. It’s always entertaining watching people who’ve never had to do the work act like it’s automatic. There’s nothing “just” about it.

@ChalkLast0712 Yep everyone has got advice .You got to learn to the listen to people on the staff that know what they are doing, the rest smile and pretend .Getting mad will just sink your ship .Always said ,” I’m gonna call one good play before I retire.” Go call plays, you’ll see it’s hard.

As an OC you have to accept that you will be in the most critiqued position on staff. Everyone thinks they can call plays and that it’s easy. In reality it’s one of the hardest coaching positions in all of sports. But that’s also what makes it one of the most fun positions.

@AaronsTraffic @PhilWongNYC Good question , my suggestion is pack up and move to red state or at least to a red county in the state . I’m not sure it can be saved . Moving towards 3rd world country status .

New Yorkers can’t afford another tax. Not property, not income, not a death tax, not even charging people more to park on their own streets. This isn’t a revenue problem; it’s a spending problem. City Hall needs to live within its means before asking families to pay more.

We hired a consulting firm to tell us why our profits are down. They sent three 24-year-olds wearing vests. They spent two months interviewing us about our own jobs. Then they put our answers into a PowerPoint presentation. They charged us $250K for this privilege. During the final readout, one of them used the phrase synergy optimization without blinking. I looked around the conference room. Our CEO was nodding like he just received the Ten Commandments. The grand conclusion was that we need to increase revenue and decrease costs. I could've told them that for a gift card to Panera. But nobody listens to the guy who works here. You only listen to the guy who flies in on a Tuesday. I'm updating my resume to include synergy optimization. It feels like the right move.

I’m a high school teacher. We have policies. Late work gets points deducted. Turn it in on time or take the hit. That’s how students learn responsibility. Senior year. Final paper worth thirty percent of the grade. Due Friday. Monday came. Still no paper from this one kid. Smart kid. Never missed assignments before. Called him to my desk after class. “Where’s your paper?” He looked down. “I don’t have it” Waited. He didn’t elaborate. “You know this tanks your grade right? Might not graduate” He nodded. Still wouldn’t look at me. “Do you not care?” His voice cracked. “My dad died Thursday night. Heart attack. Paper was done. On my laptop. But I’ve been at the hospital. At the funeral home. I forgot. I just forgot.” My chest tightened. “I’m so sorry. Why didn’t you tell me?” “Because it sounds like an excuse. Everyone has excuses.” He finally looked up. Eyes red. “Just fail me. I deserve it.” Closed my gradebook. “Email me the paper tonight. Full credit. And take this week off. Come back when you’re ready.” He shook his head. “The policy—” “I’m the teacher. I make exceptions when life happens. Your dad died. That’s not an excuse. That’s a tragedy. Go home.” He graduated. Top ten percent. Spoke at graduation. Mentioned a teacher who showed him that rules and compassion can coexist. I was in the audience. Crying. Sometimes grace matters more than policy. —Mr. Hayes, English teacher

Take 7k out of savings and put it all towards the credit card debt and pay the remaining 5k off as fast as possible. Sell the car and find something in the 8-10k range. If you have to take a loan out for that, then pay it off as fast as possible and then start building your savings account back up.

@The_Money_Buddy Easy, get rid of car , buy 10,000 one . Crush the debt . Use 7000 of saving then pay rest off. With his salary can be gone in months . Then create budget , emergency fund and open Roth . Has time to save himself and create comfortable life . It’s on him !

@ClayTravis You a got a big problem . Take half of interest each year and put in joint account . The rest/principal is put into trust for children or whoever you designate. Principal is yours . Now you shove it in his face and hold it over his head , you become the problem .

I'm 34. I've spent 13 years in finance. I have a multimillion dollar net worth. These are 25 things I'll NEVER do with my money: (even if you pay me) 1. "Time the market." 2. Invest in anything I can't explain in a sentence. 3. Day trade. You're more likely to climb Everest than turn a profit. 4. Buy individual stocks. If 92% of investors can't beat an index fund, I'm not dumb enough to think I'm special. 5. Buy a new car off the lot. 6. Pay for insurance without getting 3 quotes first. 7. Lease a car. This is literally the worst financial product ever invented. 8. Pay minimums on a credit card. 9. Buy whole life insurance. 10. Take financial advice from broke people. 11. Die without a will. The government takes 30%+ and your kids get the scraps. 12. Use a financial advisor. 1% in "fees" can cost 28%+ of your lifetime returns. 13. Trust a "get rich quick" program. If it worked, they wouldn't be selling it. 14. Keep more than 3 weeks of expenses in checking. 15. Pay bank fees. Just switch banks if they won't waive them. 16. Use a savings account under 3% APY. HYSAs exist for a reason. 17. Celebrate a big tax refund. You literally gave the IRS a tax free loan. 18. Co-sign a loan for anyone. 19. Buy a house I won't live in for 5+ years 20. Refinance just to "lower your payment." 21. Skip the employer 401k match. It's literally part of your salary. 22. Fund my kids' college before securing my own retirement. 23. Pay a medical bill without asking for an itemized receipt. 80% of them have "mistakes." 24. Blame the economy for problems my budget created. 25. Wait for the "right time" to start investing. None of these are complicated. None of them require a degree. All of them are available to you. So save this before you forget it... And follow me @Budgetdog_ more 🤝🏻

@ChivalryGuild You don’t get it on the front end ,but you do on the back end . Pay them like other people with white collar jobs and they can get a 401k like the rest of people . If not they deserve the pension and stability that comes with it in retirement . Earned every dime of my pension.

@coachvint Great for lowering your tax amount owed each year, but I'd max out a ROTH before I did that - so much more money to be had long term. Best option is to do both. And no withdrawal limits with Roths when you start pulling either - so many more advantages.

@coachvint Max out Roth first . Yes 403 will help with taxes now , but Roth is tax free dollars at 59 1/2. You can put 7500 a year in it . Put something . I could only put $ 200 for years , 56 now and maxing out . Best advice I ever got . Also when you die it’s tax free to beneficiaries.

Delta announces all members of Congress will lose special status on the airline as TSA continues to work without pay. Love this. Continue to believe all members of Congress — and their staffs — should lose their pay for the entire year every time the government shuts down.

Just got off a call with a guy who just got a $34m inheritance from his parents Not in real estate value… Not in stocks… But in cold hard cash. The kid is 23 and makes $200k/year as a software engineer Has no idea whatsoever what to do with this money What would you do with it? Here’s what I suggested (I’m not a financial advisor, and this is not financial advice) Invest $12.5m into $VOO (S&P500 ETF) Invest $12.5m into $QQQ (Nasdaq ETF) Buy a $5m primary residence in cash And with the last $5m, buy section 8 real estate properties. I connected him with the sourcing company I use, and over the next 12 months They’re going to source him 150-180 rental properties This will create enormous tax deductions that will eliminate his income tax for years And he’ll earn ~$600k-700k in annual recurring cashflow And the $5m he puts into down payments will turn into $25m of equity once the federal government pays off all the debt in 30 years Simple playbook to ensuring that $34m turns into multiple 9 figures and true generational wealth
