This helicopter ditched into the rough sea after suddenly loosing engine power, and instead of evacuating, the pilot decided to power out of the water causing the helicopter to flip over

An ongoing situation at Gatwick: nine flights originally destined for the airport are currently squawking 7700. The emergency declarations are believed to be related to low fuel, though this has not been confirmed

It's hard to watch these scenes from Afghanistan without reflecting on the level of desperation people were facing. Safety wasn't guaranteed but Aviation became a symbol of hope and survival. ✈️

Landing in the bush then coming face-to-face with the king of the jungle. 🦁✈️ The pilot tries to scare the lions away. Can you spot the second lion hidden in the scene? 👀

INCREDIBLE TEAMWORK ON DISPLAY! Four Canadair CL-415 amphibious water bombers scoop water in perfect sequence to help fight the violent fire in fontainebleau forest in France. Each aircraft can scoop up to 6,000 liters of water in just seconds and can deliver an enormous volume of water onto the wildfire in a remarkably short time when every minute matters.✈️

If you could bring back one retired airliner, which would it be? ✈️

Looking at the American Airlines evacuation, it's incredible how many people ended up on the wing. It got me wondering what if every passenger had climbed onto the same wing, all the way to the wingtip? Could the wing actually rupture? or is it designed to handle that much weight? 🤔✈️

@turbexaero_ It Seems the pilot was too focused on the mission and forgot the check the terrain

Above V1, the standard procedure is to continue the takeoff, even if an engine fails, because there may not be enough runway left to stop safely. But my other view is, the pilot may reject the takeoff after V1 only if continuing the takeoff is judged to be even more dangerous than attempting to stop. So I think it really depends with the pilot's judgement at that time.

@TripppleSeven7 What speed he was when he aborted take-off? Was it past V-1? Was it below V-1? (seriously asking, can´t find the info) (As a note, this pax captured this picture of the actual strike)

Imagine accelerating down the runway, seconds away from takeoff, when a bird strike forces an immediate decision. This American Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 8 performed a high-speed rejected takeoff at Kingstown Argyle. Would you have expected the pilots to abort at that stage? ✈️

Imagine looking out of the terminal and seeing this! The first day I saw it, I thought the jet engine was about to fail but in reality, the massive smoke you see is the residual oil inside the engine burning away as the temperatures rise during start-up.

A JetBlue passenger had a perfect timing, capturing this stunning view of a Swiss Airbus A350 wearing Wanderlust livery on final approach into Boston Logan. Beautiful sight!🇨🇭✈️ 🎥: Alison N

@Grippan65Momi Correct 💯. When you disturb airflow everything else changes. Performance, Fuel Consumption etc

De-icing is not cosmetic—it is a critical flight-safety procedure. Even a thin layer of frost, snow, or ice can disturb airflow, reduce lift, increase drag, and affect control-surface performance. Type I fluid removes existing contamination, while thicker anti-icing fluids such as Type IV help prevent reformation for a limited holdover time. That protection is not unlimited; crews must reassess conditions before takeoff. The governing principle is simple: no aircraft should depart unless its critical surfaces are clean. Clean wing. Safe flight. © Grippan65Momi | Topgun0512 ✈️🌍 #AviationSafety #DeIcing #AntiIcing #FlightSafety #WinterOperations #Airlines #AvGeek

Watch: QATAR airways and VIETNAM airlines DE-ICING 🥶Why are aircraft sprayed before takeoff? That green or orange fluid is used to remove ice and prevent new ice from forming. The fluid melts the snow and ice off the wings and control surfaces. The Pilot is the one who actually makes the final decision whether to de-ice based on preflight inspections and weather reports.

@6eJet I've never flown 727, but I'll like to. The aircraft was the flagship of many airlines back then

When the Nose Gear Never Came Down! ✈️The crew of this Boeing 727 tried extending the Nose Gear but did not receive a down and locked indication, leaving them with only one option, to perform a controlled nose gear-up landing! The pilots executed a very smooth landing, maintaining the aircraft on its main wheels before the nose gradually settled onto the runway, bringing the Jet safely to a stop. Incredible Skills by the crew 🔥
