@PSAcard Why would a company offering on-site grading accept more submissions than they can grade during the card show?

On-Site Super Express Grading Update: Thank you to those who have trusted PSA with your collectibles at The National. Due to record-breaking submission volume, we are closing the on-site Super Express grading tier. This heightened volume may also delay the completion of Super Express orders. Any such orders will be ready by show’s end on Sunday. It’s gatherings such as The National that make the hobby so strong and vibrant, and we apologize for how this may impact your experience. If you have any questions at the show, please visit the PSA booth for support. You can get up-to-date on-site turnaround time and tier availability information throughout the weekend here: psacard.click/National-Prici…

Just read through this and the implications for PSA are pretty huge. A suit of this size will probably be settled which means, not much will change. If it does go to trial and all of these tactics come out, the potential in the card market will be felt for years. People might start to question the grades that PSA gives even more than they do now driving up 10 prices and lowering everything else. Will be interested to see how this plays out. Most likely nothing for years on this, it will be delayed in court a long time.

🚨 PSA just got hit with a massive class action lawsuit claiming its entire multi-billion-dollar grading empire started with a known FRAUD. Certificate #00000001 - the first card they ever graded - was a secretly trimmed T206 Honus Wagner. THE GRADER KNEW IT WAS ALTERED. PSA’s own rules banned it. They graded it NM-MT 8 anyway, never disclosed it, and never pulled the grade. That same slab later sold for $2.8 million and is still certified. The complaint calls it the blueprint for a $15 BILLION market built on a lie.

Whatever Shyne & Co paid wasn’t enough. The quickness of how fast that card was pulled and deal was put together absolutely screams red flags the seller left huge money on the table. Cool to see someone get generational wealth. Not cool to see hobby supervillains add to their wealth in the process.
Will Stern@Will__Stern

Well that was quick: Looks like Mr Wonderful and Shyne’s fund Secure bought the Ohtani. Not knowing what they paid, I have to imagine the seller left a ton of cash on the table not taking it to auction. h/t @RyanStadler79

@collectorcriss @SportsCardNews But they obviously are making money and are completely slammed at their current prices. It’s not like they’re charging these prices and no one is paying them.

@SportsCardNews It’s a PSA problem if they can make money in that market and can’t figure out how to do it. Of course, you’d need an IQ above 70 to understand that.

Five years ago today, there were 21,982 cards graded by PSA, with 318 10’s. Today, graded pop of the card is up 41% (30,904). PSA gem examples are up only 5% (334). The price went from $81K to $450K — a jump of 440 percent!

The @Mariners just announced "Jimothy Night," happening at T-Mobile Park next Weds (8/5) Fans who buy through the team's ticket special link will get a Mariners x Jimothy t-shirt. The first 20,000 fans will also score an exclusive Jimothy Rookie Card, with several being chase cards (1 of 1 gold, 1 of 100 silver, 1 of 500 shiny blue, 1 of 2,000 numbered) Farmers Insurance is sponsoring the themed evening. Last Friday, some Mariners players wore custom Jimothy t-shirts during batting practice ahead of their game against the Rangers. The team told @FOS that the source of the shirts was Julio Rodriguez, who passed them out in the clubhouse.
