As we (the posh people of Kiwologoma) celebrate the newly paved Kira-Kiwologoma road, we must thank the land owners along the road, who gave up their land for free for the road expansion. Look at Kyanja, very tiny road! Ours is the size of the expressway.

Hi Doreen, I’m in a dilemma ..! I pay rent for this lady , I pay for all her bills (water bills, electric bills ) every mohth. But this lady treats me like trash , she is very arrogant , she doesn’t respect at all these days . I suspect she might be seeing another man ..! Or maybe she’s treating me like this because she knows l love her so much..! We’ve been together for 4years now , l was planning to make things official before this year ends but I’m scared and hurting at the same time . Kindly advise me ..! Should l stop paying for her the bills maybe she will change her ways ? Should l just count my losses and let her go? Kindly advise me..! Hide my identity ..!

@emmanuel_dombo Indeed many churches teach that all leaders come from God but it's not what the Scriptures teach! The Scriptures are full of examples of leaders who were evil and abhorrent to God including priests & prophets. Not all things that churches teach are aligned with the will of God!

Dr Ssentongo, I think you’re dragging @UNDAuthority largely because you’re not familiar with how drug discovery and the drug approval process works. I’ll save you the boring details and try to limit myself to Lenacapavir. I’ve followed its development mainly because I follow the work of one of my old teachers at @UW, Jared Baeten (highlighted in yellow). He was heavily involved in the study of this drug’s use and is the guy whose work forms the cornerstone of PrEP back in 2012/13. In fact, he worked with Dr Flavia on the use of this drug in a limited population group. But I digress. Five things you might wanna know: 1-Uganda wasn’t the only site where clinical trials for that drug were conducted. Dr Flavia wasn’t the only Ugandan researcher to work on it. I don’t know how many people you’d wanna have NDA credit. Or should they only limit themselves to her because she’s the only one you know in this process? 2-Should this credit be limited to the academic researchers or should it be extended to the people who participate in these double-blind randomized controlled trials? I mean, they sign up for the possibility of taking a placebo which is like playing Russian roulette. They literally put their lives on the line for science. Should NDA name them too? 3-From frame 2, you can see the list of people considered worthy of naming among the study authors. You’re a multi-published Prof and you’re familiar with this. This was the study that looked at the drug’s use as an HIV prevention tool in the wider population. To a layman, that multi-site, double-blind randomized trial formed the basis of its FDA approval in June 2025. I suspect NDA also used that study for this approval. If Dr Flavia wasn’t found worthy of appearing on a publication of this research in the NEJM, how then would NDA have known that she participated and was pivotal in this process? One would have to dig deeper to find Dr Flavia’s cisgender study and it’s to it that I now turn. The related study you find her in is a study done among cisgender women in Uganda and South Africa. It compared a drug combo with Lenacapavir and one without. It also looked at questions on adherence etc. Please see frame 3. That study is actually referenced by the latter study and it lists many Ugandans, not just Dr Flavia Matovu Kiweewa. (Refer to my point in 1) 4-It’s not standard practice for NDA to list academics who participated in drug discovery or efficacy and safety trials. Would you prefer they make an exception for Ugandans? In which case, they owe some flowers to lots of Ugandans at IDI, JCRC, MildMay, MJAP etc for all the work done in studying HIV meds. If they went down this route, they’d never do much else. 5-NDA is not in the business of doing big pharma PR. All those studies were funded by and done on behalf of Gilead. Dr Flavia should receive her flowers from her paymaster; the American bio pharmaceutical giant, Gilead Sciences, Inc. Anyway, I think the folks at @UNDAuthority deserve some grace here. They don’t deserve all the vitriol your followers are giving them because of the blind trust they (your followers) have in your commitment to the scientific process and the truth. I think you’re failing your followers in this case by ignoring basic scientific nuance and embracing outrage. Happy New Year. ✌🏾

It would have been at this time when the drug is confirmed that Ugandan researchers like Dr Flavia Matovu who were part of the team that laboured their brains are acknowledged and recognised for their contribution to the breakthrough. But, alas, NDA in its tweets is only announcing and patting itself on the back for approving the drug! We need to appreciate our researchers so as to motivate more to do even greater things. Besides, it’s the fair thing to do.

There is so many of those that most of us look up to but they’re wolves in sheep’s skins! Who knew that the same people that be on TV screens preaching against corruption are the same people sanitizing corruption at a cost? Gen Muntu once said, “TIME!”
