Yes. This is how a lot of people feel If a game can’t break out of its niche, that’s the game’s fault. Not the player’s I’m not saying the games in-between are bad (whatever they might be) But I am saying that none captured the world’s attention the way FF7-X did, until Expedition 33 This meme is not a sick burn. It’s a sad reflection of a genre that could be so much better

Final Fantasy was the gourmet meal Then its Head Chef left (Sakaguchi) Then they changed the recipe for 25 years, while its customers begged them to stop Then a French restaurant opened. They showed what the Original Recipe would look like, with today’s tech (Expedition 33) In less than one year, their first dish outsold the last 2 meals Square Enix made (FF16 & FF7 Rebirth) That’s what Final Fantasy was Now it’s just a confused attempt at a gourmet meal, that only follows half the recipe
