I spoke with @FireChiefofHFD & shared his anger. I was glad to hear his firefighters are going to be ok and told him we will continue to work with all of our first responders to ensure their safety.
The suspect, 23, will be charged with 2 counts of assault of a public servant.

Tonight a @HoustonFire crew was threatened with a gun while on an EMS incident. Fearing for their lives, two Firefighters jumped from a 2nd story balcony stairwell onto the ground, causing injury This deadly conduct against 1st responders is outrageous and inexcusable!

💙I want to thank @HoustonTexans for honoring HPD Sgt. Mauricio Valle & his family at today’s game.
Sgt Valle was shot on Dec. 2 & has been working very hard on his recovery. I told him he’s been missed and we can’t wait to have him back at HPD!

Privileged to celebrate Ms. Felia Ferguson's retirement from HPD this month. With an impressive 34-year tenure, she has been an unwavering pillar of service.
Her mother, Ms. Dorrene Brock, worked for HPD for more than 35 years.
We are grateful for their combined contributions.

I'm deeply saddened to share that today we said goodbye to our beloved T-Rex.
T-Rex patrolled Houston's streets beginning in 2015, bringing fugitives to justice even while battling bone cancer.
Please keep his handler in your thoughts & prayers.
T-Rex, you are an inspiration.
