I will not disclose my own denomination at this moment, but if I were hypothetically not Orthodox, and Andrew Wilson or Jay Dyer were my first introductions to Orthodox Christianity, I would never become Orthodox. Much like if I knew nothing about Islam, but my exposure consisted of anyone in the "Dawah" circle, I would be completely disgusted at the religion simply from that exposure alone.

There is only one holy catholic and apostolic church; and all Christians in all denominations (and even a few outside of them) all belong to it! The Church is where the Spirit enthrones Christ as Lord and Saviour...

@TrueBirdUS Authority is null and void if you stray away from the original teaching of Christ and the Apostles. Paul even says in Galatians that even if he himself or an Angel from heaven teaches a different gospel than what was originally given to them, let him be cursed.

@Hlynnsimon @GmorganJr @Moth3rmomo The disciples in Acts 6 already were filled with the Holy Spirit, so what purpose did laying hands on them serve? It was to ordain their ministry and the authority that comes with it within the Church

@Hlynnsimon @GmorganJr @Moth3rmomo Its about authority, not necessarily receiving the Spirit alone. The authority is transferred with intent, otherwise anyone an apostle accidentally shook hands with would become an elder.
Please read through these; confession has always been conducted in context of the Church.
