Just because you personally think a female character in Bleach is badly written, underdeveloped, or simply isn’t portrayed exactly the way you wanted her to be, that does not automatically make the writing misogynistic. Critiquing a character’s development, personality, or role in the story is completely valid , every fan has the right to dislike how certain characters were handled. But slapping the label of “misogyny” on it the moment a female character doesn’t meet your personal standards cheapens the term and turns legitimate literary criticism into something it’s not. And let’s be real: being a woman does not grant you the ultimate authority or special insight to declare anything you don’t like as misogynistic. Your gender doesn’t magically make your opinion on writing quality more valid than anyone else’s. Good writing (or bad writing) is judged by the same standards regardless of the character’s gender or the critic’s. Bleach has plenty of strong, complex, and beloved female characters, and it also has some that fell flat for many fans , that’s storytelling, not systemic hatred toward women. Disagreeing with this doesn’t make me (or anyone else) sexist; it just means we’re refusing to let every piece of imperfect writing get branded with the same heavy accusation
