For the tenth time, Anderson as good as he is, is not a defensive midfielder. His signing is like replacing Mainoo not Casemiro.

I’ve seen a lot of United fans calling for us to sign Anderson as Casemiro’s replacement, and I keep asking myself… do you all want to replace Casemiro or Mainoo? Anderson is a good player, no disrespect to him at all, but he’s not a natural DM. He can’t do the dirty work needed in our midfield, so we shouldn’t even be considering him as a direct Casemiro replacement. 💯

Anderson is top of my midfield list alongside Tonali, but United fans going into his DMs and tagging him everywhere to sign for us is embarrassing. This is a Nottingham Forest player who hasn’t achieved anything in his career, & we’re acting like he’s Ronaldo or Bruno Fernandes.

The best thing that Carrick has implemented into this team — which we saw him using at Boro — is the ladder midfield pairing.
It almost guarantees progression when the technicians are as good as Mainoo & Casemiro have been especially when you bring in an extra man overload.
