I am aware of the disturbing incident targeting worshippers during Friday prayers outside the Baitul Mamur Mosque in Brooklyn, where a man praying was struck with an egg. 

That hateful act is unacceptable and an affront to the values that define us as New Yorkers. 

My administration is committed to rooting out anti-Muslim hate in all its forms and ensuring every New Yorker can live and worship in safety and dignity. The NYPD Hate Crime Task Force is investigating this incident.

Because the difference is super obvious to every one else - WE PAY FOR ISRAEL'S WAR CRIMES AND GENOCIDE, WE DON'T PAY FOR ANYONE ELSE'S. Israel is making us complicit in their genocide. Any moral and decent person would object. I would have hoped we would have all been at least as aggressive as this in fighting back when the Germans were doing this to the Jews in the Holocaust. But I'm sure there was someone at the time telling everyone that the real crime wasn't what the Germans were doing, the real crime was hurting the Germans' feelings.

Maybe on some level I am judgmental for them believing a god demands such strict adherence to his commands.

I'm sorry, but my own response would be to postpone prayer until I could get a moment when people weren't breathing down my neck, children staring, etc. Maybe it shouldn't, but it just gets under my skin a little when people don't seem to revere their own privacy enough to just WAIT. I didn't like it when the Christians were overbearing in the small town I grew up in, and I'm not crazy about it now. That said, I don't hate the people, I've been treated kindly by obvious Muslims when I've met them. They do have every legal right to do what they do.
