The crunch of biting an apple and cracking bones sound the same. Sound designers know it, but Roblox's text based asset search engine doesn't.
"Apple crunch" and "bone cracks" are nowhere near each other as words, but nearly identical as audio.
So we don't match sound effects by their labels. We use the audio waveform itself.
Each of our 463,413 sound effects get an audio embedding: a vector built from what the sound actually is, not what it's named.
The same approach powers our music similarity. Similarity search does acoustic and waveform matching with multimodal vector spaces fine tuned for music.

"Why?"
"When?"
"Can you give an example?
Just think of the conversation like a wheel that your questions cause to spin!
