As a result of the extreme storm & weather (significant snowfall, freezing rain & ice pellets) forecasted to develop over the course of this evening and tomorrow, all KPR schools, childcare centres, buildings, and worksites are CLOSED Thursday, February 13, to students and staff.

Together we can make a difference and together we did! The provincial government finally approved the funding for a long overdue Newcastle School build!!! Congrats to the parents and community who tirelessly advocated with us to make this happen for our children and community.

We have completed our investigation and the Courtice High School lockdown has been lifted. At no time was there an active shooter, or injured persons. Police units will be clearing the area shortly.

There is a heavy police presence in the area of Courtice Road and Nash Road at Courtice High School. At this time the school remains in lockdown while police continue to investigate. There is no active shooter, and there are no injuries. Updates to follow.

KPR was pleased to be joined today by provincial & municipal education partners to turn the sod at the construction site of the new Northglen neighbourhood school in Bowmanville! Scheduled to open Sept 2025, the school will house 769 students, JK-Gr 8 & a 4-room childcare centre.

10th Annual Bowmanville High School Relay for Life event happening today. Way to go students and staff who organized and fundraised for this important cause!
