Certainly compelling. That being said, in retrospect it's pretty clear that he never meant to prosecute the Epstein case, which seems to be the dominant piece of this entire story. I think the public's reluctance to let that go is what solidified Trump's direction away from the populist policies he campaigned on and into the fold of the deep state. He has a personal stake there he was unwilling to expose at any cost.

It is a decoy. They do not care about that island unless it contains missile depots or some other major military asset. They are releasing this information publicly to trick Iranian forces into deploying large numbers of soldiers there. This allows them to bomb the island and all iranian soldiers there with maximum effect, since there are few civilians, and Iran will be distracted with fewer troops in more critical locations. People need to understand one thing clearly. The United States’ main goal now is to prevent Iran from launching more missiles. Their focus is on destroying or invading these key locations and neutralizing the threat from within. There is no other option. I believe they have enough intelligence to identify all the important sites that must be targeted.
