A country that can only survive on donations is a country on life support. It might look alive and seem like it’s breathing, but it’s only alive because no one has pulled the plug, which means it’s not truly alive.
I’m not saying it’s right or fair. I actually think what’s been done to Ukraine is horrific, but throughout human history, a country that couldn’t defend itself from an enemy fell and adapted.
Keeping Ukraine “on life support” because we have issues with Putin is not fair to Ukrainians either.
Just like it’s sometimes unfair to keep a loved one on life support because we want them “alive,” it’s the same here. It’s unfair to keep Ukraine believing it has a chance to survive this because we have issues with Putin.
