And for all this treason, @janefonda was rewarded by Hollywood with a career that earned her millions. Terrible human being.
Rip Wheeler@WheelerRipWA

Barbara Walters once wrote that many Americans have forgotten — and many others were never taught — how Jane Fonda’s actions during the Vietnam War were viewed by countless POWs and veterans. One of the most widely repeated accounts comes from Air Force pilot Jerry Driscoll, a POW held in the “Hanoi Hilton.” According to the story, he was cleaned up and forced to appear before Jane Fonda during her visit to North Vietnam. When ordered to praise his captors’ “humane treatment,” he instead spat at her. He was reportedly beaten severely afterward, suffering injuries that permanently affected his vision and ended his flying career. Another former POW, Colonel Larry Carrigan, described how prisoners secretly passed Jane Fonda slips of paper containing their Social Security numbers in hopes of proving to the world they were alive. The story claims she later handed those papers over to North Vietnamese officers, resulting in brutal beatings for the men involved. Carrigan survived. Others allegedly did not. Former civilian adviser Michael Benge, who was imprisoned for more than five years, also spoke publicly about his experience. He said he agreed to meet with Fonda because he wanted to tell her the truth about the treatment POWs endured — not the “humane and lenient” image being presented for propaganda purposes. According to Benge, he was severely punished before any meeting could happen. For many veterans and military families, Jane Fonda’s 1972 trip to Hanoi became a symbol of betrayal during a painful chapter in American history. While supporters viewed her as an antiwar activist protesting U.S. policy, critics believed her actions crossed the line into giving aid and comfort to America’s enemy during wartime. Decades later, the anger and controversy surrounding “Hanoi Jane” still remain powerful for many who served, suffered, or lost loved ones during the Vietnam War. Whatever one’s political views may be, the experiences of POWs and veterans deserve to be remembered and treated with respect.

🚨‼️Peter being married doesn’t merely prove “marriage is permitted.” It exposes the gap between the New Testament and Rome’s later system. The Bible never presents Peter as a Roman-style celibate priest, pope, or head of a sacramental hierarchy. It presents him as a married apostle, and Paul plainly says a bishop is to be “the husband of one wife” (1 Tim. 3:2). Calling celibacy a “discipline” does not fix the problem. Rome built an entire clerical caste around traditions the New Testament never commands. The New Testament has bishops, elders, and deacons, not a sacrificing priesthood offering Christ again through a Eucharistic system. The one sacrifice was finished at Calvary. Rome didn’t preserve Peter’s ministry; it replaced it with its own.
Rick Miller@RickWMiller1

Peter being married does not refute Catholicism. The Catholic Church has never taught priests must be unmarried by divine law. Clerical celibacy in the Latin Church is a discipline, not a doctrine, and even today many Catholic priests in Eastern Churches are married. The New Testament itself praises celibacy for ministry (1 Cor. 7), while also permitting marriage. Peter having a wife no more disproves the priesthood than Paul being celibate disproves marriage. And the claim that the Church invented priesthood ignores the New Testament’s ordained ministry of bishops, presbyters, and deacons, along with sacrificial Eucharistic language and apostolic succession from the earliest Christians.

As far as Church councils go, Trent and Vatican I are far more important than Vatican II. As far as the Roman Missal goes, the Novus Ordo (post 1970) liturgy is an aberration that is historically inconsistent and will not last.

The early church, made up largely of poor & illiterate disciples, turned a hostile & violent world upside down because they MANIFESTED the love & nature of the indwelling Christ, & were UNIFIED... so unlike the modern-day Western church with her huge numbers & massive advantages

Throughout history, during the church age, the little horn operates as the great Antichrist power. It opposes truth, persecutes the saints, and exalts itself against God. Daniel 7 and Revelation 13 are walking in the same direction, saying the same thing. Therefore, the little horn is the long historical Antichrist power working from the time of Paul and John, through to this age we are living in now. Though it looks holy, the Bible describes it as a great hostile power coming against God’s people and being decisively overthrown by God Himself.

@ATradCatholic @adelethelaptop is correct, contrite, contrition is confess to whom we sinned. "confessing" to a priest and saying hail mary and Our Father is not contrition. Yes, we can confess publicly and be forgiven by God.

He’s my confirmation saint because of his defense of the tenets of the Catholic faith early in church history. I returned to the Catholic Church after 30+ years as a reformed Protestant after studying early church history. It’s hard to deny that early Christianity was Catholic when you read the writings of the earliest leaders of the church espousing the basics of Catholic theology while facing death! So many Protestants say the just want the faith of the early church. I say, Then go to mass!

THE CHURCH FATHER WHO WROTE THIS IN 107 AD AND IT SILENCES EVERY PROTESTANT ARGUMENT St. Ignatius of Antioch was a student of the Apostle John. He was arrested and sent to Rome to be eaten by lions. On the way, he wrote seven letters. In 107 AD, within living memory of the Apostles, he wrote: “Where the bishop is, there let the multitude of believers be; even as where Jesus is, there is the Catholic Church.” (Letter to the Smyrnaeans, 8:2) This is the first recorded use of the term “Catholic Church” and it comes from a man who personally knew the Apostle who leaned on Jesus’ chest at the Last Supper. He also wrote: “Take note of those who hold heterodox opinions… They abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer, because they do not confess that the Eucharist is the flesh of our Savior Jesus Christ.” Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist. The Catholic Church by name. Obedience to bishops in apostolic succession. 107 AD. Not the Council of Trent. Not the Middle Ages. The next time someone tells you the Catholic Church invented these doctrines centuries later, show them Ignatius. He wrote this on the way to die for it. Who will share this?
