The way companies are forcing Ai is alarming asf because they really put the game on low settings to further push this false narrative that Ai "improves" the quality. Requiem looked amazing, this is just embarrassing.

@zizys33604 @TrueGamer1111 It's not really the photorealism that's bothering gamers in this situation. It's the fact that A.I is being used to do so. It could make the game objectively better visually, but it will automatically be "A.I slop" as long as A.I was used to achieve the result.

@TryhardFan @TrueGamer1111 For me yes. I would imagine that the same thing happens for other gamers thats why this backlash happened to be rather huge. They might not be able to explain it why it just hits in very weird spot and they simply start screaming "slopvidia".

For the idiots who criticize DLSS 5... take this example from Hogwarts... a “45-year-old kid” in a dynamic scene from the game... the “artistic vision” suffers greatly in favor of incredible graphics 😅😂🤣

@Jayyakamii Why doesn't the crab simply force its way out? I mean, the turtle swallowed it whole, without killing it, which prevents animals with this fate from creating a problem for the predator by attacking from the inside?

@Prai2K @GameCharacterAI I honestly don't see that. His skin looks brighter, but that's the natural effect. His face looks the same but with much more detail.

@iJezabella @IGN As far as I know, there's no such thing as a game that ONLY provides DLSS Frame-Gen as an option without providing DLSS Quality/Performance/Balanced as a separate option.

I don't know what the situation is with current DLSS if they give you the option to use 3 or 2. I know AMD sometimes have 3 and 4.

@iJezabella @IGN They can't possibly force it on everyone because most of us won't have the option to turn it on anyways. Only 5000 gpu havers can use the feature, so not many people will be able to test it out for themselves.
It'll be niche like Hairworks/PhysX.

@iJezabella @IGN I don't know for sure, but it's probably an additional option like Frame-Gen. You can just use the regular DLSS Quality/Performance, or you can use Frame-gen or DLSS5 enhanced lighting.

@IGN For people saying don't use it... Well it's DLSS... You kind of HAVE to because your GPU's launch underpowered like crazy and no other aliasing solutions are as good as DLSS 4 or FSR 4 So actually your solution is buy AMD
Because you need upscaling to achieve playable framerates

@ata_2001_ @IGN DLSS5 can only work with the data it's given in the game. If the world looks like a "potato", then the feature isn't going to be able to do much with that information.
Devs usually have to develop for consoles too, so they'll need to put in effort regardless.

@sebastianl10n @slow_developer But that's why it's simply an option. It's for the people who have the hardware and those who want to have better looking visuals. Something like Ray-Tracing isn't necessary either, but as someone with an RTX 4070 GPU, I enjoy having the option to turn it on.

@TryhardFan @slow_developer I am not against AI, but companies just focus on wrong things. We don't need better looking "water" in a game or some other shit. All of that is "nice to have", but isn't necessary to create amazing game.

the amount of hate on DLSS 5 is ridiculous
especially coming from the decels and the gaming community.
in fact, the whole gamer bubble is so anti-ai -- they don't even think about it, and their minds act like they're 12 years old
"there is a texture with AI cancel the game" is very common

@wisplite @A_Wicked_Guy @TheGameVerse Nah, I was only using Jak and Daxter as an easy way to explain it. I know they keep the same model, but the level of detail on that same model is reduced once they go into gameplay. That's what usually happens in these cinematic story games.

Modern games are different. Why would they bother swapping out the models between gameplay and cutscenes? That causes unnecessary load times when entering a cutscene, as it has to load a more detailed model and materials, and if your computer can render the cutscene fine, then it could render the same model in gameplay fine too.
I can't think of a single game made in the last decade that had in-engine cutscenes with different character models than gameplay. There's just no reason to do it.

@let_it_go_chill @__silent_ Agreed. I can see how it might make some games look worse, but from what they showcased, it looks incredible. Most of us won't even have the option to use it anyway, so it's no big deal. I just appreciate the tech advancement.

I think the issue are upset with DF is because: *now* Rich and Olivier are admitting that the faces don't look correct, but the original coverage mentioned none of that? If they thought that, why not say it there? It was not supposed to be an ad, so they should have pushed back.
