Red Sox beat the Pirates 6-3 and are now 13-14 so far this spring. ☀️ ⚾️ Sonny Gray looked great in his final spring start. 6 IP - 78 Pitches/56 Strikes - 4 Hits - 2 ER/R - 9 K - 0 BB - 1 HBP - 1 HR - 10 Whiffs. Leaned heavier on the Sinker than the 4SFB. ⚾️ Masataka Yoshida went 2-for-4 in the DH role. Had 2 different RBI doubles. ⚾️ Wilyer Abreu, Ceddanne Rafaela, and Carlos Narvaez all put together 1-for-3 days. Rafaela had a triple on a deep flyball between CF and RF. ⚾️ Andruw Monasterio had a 1-for-5 day with an RBI single. ⚾️ Mickey Gasper went 1-for-3 with a single and walk. Couple of really good challenges behind the plate with the ABS system. ⚾️ Antonio Anderson went 2-for-2 with an RBI single off the bench. Braiden Ward was 1-for-1 with a HBP. Stanley Tucker had a sacrifice fly. ⚾️ Ryan Watson’s stuff was crisper than his earlier outings this spring. Still got tagged for a homer. 2 IP - 1 Hit - 1 ER/R - 1 K - 0 BB - 1 HR. ⚾️ Zack Kelly handled the 9th. Worked around back to back 2-out walks. Lost an ABS Challenge he made himself too. ⚾️ Nate Eaton still hasn’t touched the infield grass this spring. 0-for-3 with a walk.
