I think you should educate yourself
First of all you’re crying over nothing it’s so stupid cause all that was asked regarding sharia was personal laws and civil matters not penal laws and even the north rarely ever applies penal laws not only due to the rigidity of evidence but because criminal cases are often taken over by secular court
The north barely practices the sharia outside of personal laws like marriage, inheritance, divorce, contracts etc
Also most Muslim countries out of the about 50+ are not struggling with conflicts or instability
Ironically many Christian countries are in South America, Eastern Europe and Africa (central Africa)
Also Ironically most of the minority Muslim countries that are unstable are the ones with secular laws and western laws or western invasions, bombings and sanctions that crippled their economy
The vast majority of the countries that actually have sharia in their constitution in part or mostly are successful or decently developed
Qatar, Saudi, UAE, Brunei, Maldives, Indonesia(aceh), Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Malaysia,Morocco etc

Every country practising Shariah today will swear that they are practising the correct version. When you look around the Muslim world, you don’t see one universally accepted model.
There’ll always be problems when a system is heavily dependent on religious interpretation. You are advocating for a system that even Muslims around the world cannot agree on? A system whose implementation varies from country to country? A system that people constantly defend by saying, “That’s not the real Sharia” whenever a bad example is raised?
We see multiple competing interpretations, a few prosperous countries, and many others struggling with conflict, instability, authoritarianism, and deep social tensions. The answer cannot simply be, “Those countries got it wrong.”
Why is this even a conversation in a multi-religious country like Nigeria?

Let’s say we even approach this the way we would approach any other policy proposal. If someone wants to introduce a new economic system, education system, or healthcare system, the first thing we ask is:
What has the track record been?
What outcomes has it produced?
What does the evidence say?
So why should Shariah be exempt from that scrutiny? There are dozens of Muslim-majority countries in the world today. Some implement aspects of Shariah, some implement significant portions of it, and some claim it as the foundation of their legal system.
If you want Shariah in Nigeria, where is the evidence? Why do you want non-Muslims to ignore the much larger number of countries practising shariah struggling with poverty, conflict, instability, weak institutions, corruption, or authoritarian governance?
And before anyone says “that’s not real Sharia,” that’s exactly my point.
Every failure of Shariah is always dismissed as bad implementation.
At what point do we evaluate the system based on the outcomes it actually produces in the real world rather than the ideal version that exists in theory?
Nigeria is already battling insecurity, corruption, weak institutions, religious tensions, and selective justice.
Why should a multi-religious country introduce a legal framework that is deeply contested, heavily dependent on interpretation, and implemented differently across the Muslim world?
What problem does Sharia solve that a fair, effective, and properly enforced legal system cannot solve? What are the success stories of the muslim-majority states already practising it?

In Yoruba culture, children (including females) can inherit their parents. But a wife can't inherit from her husband, stop lying.
Premodern Yorubas had "Opo sisu" where the widow is inherited by relatives of her dead husband. She's part of the property to be inherited

200 level (2015/16), Faculty of Law, Benue State University, I was the best Islamic law student. I was so good my scripts were used by my juniors sets after as the precedent for answering questions in Islamic law. 500level (2019/2020), my project was the only one on Islamic law. My uncle begged me to write on Company law because I was really good at it. I said no and followed my passion for Islamic law. My topic was on the doctrine of Ijbar (child marriage). I went on countless interviews within the Muslim communities in Benue for this and the witness testimonies I got till date still make me sad. We were even warned to stop talking to their wives and daughters in Katungu (Makurdi people will know Katungu and how notorious it is). I can tell you people in the SW for a fact that you had better fight Sharia law with everything in you especially your women. This is not a time to be doing online bigotry anymore. Sharia (Islamic Law) is the easiest law to use to perpetuate human rights abuses. Hudud Offenses alone will wipe out Lagos state. First off Zina (adultery and fornication). Alfa just needs to say Modupe the slay queen is guilty of Zina and she will be stoned. You’ll see how the non Yoruba Muslims will execute this sharp sharp. Or is it Shurb al-Khamr (drinking), all of you Yoruba Muslims that drink more than Christian’s, ministers in the temple of Quilox and other clubs, they will flog you at least 40 strokes o.
