@BridgetMWillard I remember in the 1970s there was a software called "Eliza" that simulated a psychotherapist, and you could have long conversations with it. It was available on every computer system from mainframe Univacs to IBM 360s. I had a copy of it on a Heathkit H89. It was a lot of fun.
