Just saved my newish client $3,379 on their taxes just because I know so much more about there situation then a general tax person.
The had went through a divorce and sold their home early next year and they just assumed they wouldn't be able to itemize for such a small year in mortgage interest.
Being divorced, there standard deduction was cut in half, which increased the chances that itemizing would be more beneficial.
I ran a rough estimate based on a few variables I had access too and I suggested we take the extra time to hunt down the details.
