Last week I had the chance to apply my current agentic workflow strategy to a timeboxed team build with two amazing devs Sterling Chapman and @blackgirlbytes on a fun and sometimes stressful new @codetv_dev show filming. We found out very quickly that we are all optimized for effective solo agentic builds. The rel in devrel is so strong in me I was just able to find, vibe check, and book a dj for my best friends wedding via some connections after hers pulled out last min before the wedding planner even had a plan. Maybe my future business model is just industry-agnostic relationships as a service .

Didn't get to all of the tax returns I wanted to for clients before spring break. I was super stressing as the whole week was filled with wrenches being tossed into our scheduling and logistics. Sent a message to let folks know I'm not going to be as timely and they'd typically expect and turns out they are all travelling too and they don't care. 😂

Let's be honest though. Some sales folks, and some sales training is super sleazy. I literally receive 100 calls a day for who knows what, but I've rarely ever indicated interest in what they pitch me in their voicemails. I've been lucky to always be more on the customer service side of sales where it's just helping folks have an enjoyable experience receiving something they already want. Being in front of the right people who the service/product is huge value add makes the process so much more fun for everyone involved.

@LukeCFPLevelUp If we all live by the idea that you are ALWAYS selling something, why do people who are titled as “sales” giving everyone the ick?! 🤣

At times it can be challenging being a sales person with a community mindset. Ppl often put you in a box due to their own experiences w sales ppl. I would like to change that narrative.

I consider myself a very lucky person, but when things go bad, they tend to go very bad 🤣 Luckily, it’s not anything major.

Another tax mistake I often see: “I was told that if I’m paid less than $600, I don’t have to report it on my taxes.” ❌That’s incorrect. The $600 reporting threshold applies to the payer (the business), not the recipient of the income. Recipients must report all income received, regardless of amount. Businesses are only required to issue a tax form (like a 1099 NEC or 1099 MISC) if payments to an individual exceed $600 in a year. Even if no form is issued, the business can still deduct the payment as an expense. The threshold exists to reduce administrative burdens for businesses making many small, short-term payments to contractors.
