Opus 4.5 just commoditized most engineers. I was expecting this to happen in 3 years but it happened in 6 months. I believe something similar will happen with big parts of mathematics thanks to Lean. The funny thing is that Opus 4.5 is being commoditized by the chinese GLM 4.7 that is open source. Anything that runs on a computer will go to 0. The same thing will happen with most physical things thanks to robots in less than a decade. Most companies won’t need funding from VCs either. Just loans to keep growing. The software and financial industry that built the West coast is commoditizing itself. Crazy times.
