@TolkienWorldG Even if facing 100 Uruk-Hai, Aragorn is still superior to them in skills mixed with both Elvish and Dunedain, while Uruks (in film lore) have less than a year of basic training since being bred, even though the brute strength and sheer numbers were heavily on their side.

@sidneyfmn ...but rather sadistically mock him for being a coward to open up to Judy about his feelings, even if her words unintentionally did encourage Nick to make a move to open up to her.

@sidneyfmn I loved first Zootopia, but I love Zootopia 2 even more because of the strong Wildehopps hints, even if the near-kiss and hidden wedding ring were never part of the final film. I don't think Bellwether would've been trying to encourage Nick to understand his feelings for Judy...

I'm back to analyze why Nick and Judy's love story works based on the second film, and only scenes from the second film. I've already written about this in relation to the first film, and now I intend to write about the second. Before starting, I wanted to point out something that might cause confusion, especially for those who followed the leaks in recent months. One of the leaks was a leak of the entire film's plot, from a leaker who saw a preview of the film and didn't sign an NDA. This leak contains some things that are quite different from what's in the film, and that's what I want to talk about first. The leaker said in the original post that they watched a preview of the film, so it wasn't the final product. And there are scenes that were cut from the final product, such as the prison scene where Bellwether would encourage Nick to understand his feelings for Judy, the scenes of the near-kiss between the two, and the post-credits scene where Nick would hide a wedding ring. None of this is in the film. Why is that? My hypothesis is that first, it never made sense for Bellwether to care about Nick's feelings for Judy; I always found that scene strange (and what's in the film is very cute), so it was probably discarded early on. Second, the other scenes that would show a more explicit romance were probably from the versions of the film that took place 5 years and 1 year after the first. Jared confirmed that they tried to make the film in those two ways but felt there was too much story to tell and therefore opted for the final version set 1 week after the first film (which turned out great, by the way). Now let's move on to the second film. I felt from the beginning that the two were really trying to be the best partners possible, but they always had some difficulty. Judy always encouraged Nick to open up to her from the start. Several times, Judy said that Nick was acting strangely in some way and that if he had something to say, he could say it, but he didn't have the courage. And it was also noticeable that Nick was making more jokes than usual precisely to hide his discomfort. At the beginning of the film, it's already possible to see Nick's protective side, wanting to protect Judy at all costs. He tries to stop her from jumping into the runaway van. And he insisted on staying home quietly for her safety, but again, he didn't reveal the real reason. Later, they infiltrate the Zootenial Gala, and it's clear they liked seeing each other well-dressed. The way they looked at each other before entering is quite convincing, showing that they loved what they were seeing in each other. During this infiltration, it was also clear that both of them got jealous when interacting with others. Judy got jealous when Nick interacted with the bear, but it was brief because Nick soon called her to join him. Nick got jealous when he saw Judy talking to Pawbert. After this scene, they are rescued by Mr. Big, who offers to help them escape. Nick wanted it for Judy's safety, but she refused. After meeting Nibbles and going to the semi-aquatic animal fair, they hitch a ride on a walrus that mistakes them for a couple. They don't deny it, Nick is uncomfortable, and Judy just smiles discreetly (did she like the idea?). After that, they chase Gary through the pipes, and Judy almost drowns, but Nick saves her again. Here we arrive at the most impactful scene. When they are going up to the Honeymoon Inn. Nick and Judy have an argument and end up dropping the carrot pen that symbolized their partnership. Judy is clearly very upset about this, to the point of not even talking to him anymore. Nick notices this and tries to talk to her. At that moment, the police catch up with them, and Nick tries to warn them that it wasn't worth dying for the case. At that moment, Judy thinks that maybe they are too different to be partners. But she only thought about it because Nick wouldn't open up to her, and she had given him several chances. She had asked him many times if everything was alright and if he had anything to talk about. As the police try to catch them, they destroy the place and break apart in two. Judy makes the difficult decision to go with Pawbert and Gary, leaving Nick behind. Something she regrets as soon as she wakes up. The first thing she thinks about after waking up is Nick, it's always been Nick. Gary always comforted her, saying they would rescue Nick later. She wanted to solve the case to help the reptiles, but her biggest concern was Nick. Nick sees Judy being carried away unconscious, and his main concern becomes getting to her again to save her. While in prison, Nick also reflects on the things he's been through with Judy recently and has a heartfelt conversation with Nibbles, who was also in prison. Here he realizes what he should have told her all this time. After leaving prison, his main concern is getting to Judy as quickly as possible to help her. When he arrives, it seems too late. Judy is poisoned, and Pawbert is almost escaping with the antidote. This scene is harder to watch. Judy sees that Nick came back for her, and she can't do anything because she's paralyzed. At that moment, Judy's only concern is Nick. Nick tried to stop Pawbert and saw that there was still a way to save Judy with the antidote. He gets the antidote for her even if it costs him his life, for her sake. Here, they had clearly crossed the line of friendship and it was becoming something more. Judy, after receiving the antidote, desperately runs to save the person who matters most to her: Nick. We arrive at the scene that cements everything. The bridge scene. Where they reveal their deepest feelings. Nick finally speaks about why he didn't care so much about the case, because Judy mattered more than anything else. Judy apologizes for leaving him behind and also reveals that he is what matters most to her. Notice the weight of these revelations. Nick would let the world burn just to protect Judy. Judy has an entire family of loving parents and siblings, but Nick matters more than anyone else. Nick joined the police force not because he wanted to be a police officer, but because he wanted to be part of a group; Judy was his group. Nick is the only partner she wants because he is her fluffle. Here, clearly, they are what matters most to each other, much more than just friends. They crossed the line. After a confession like that, it doesn't make sense for Judy and Nick to look for other romantic partners. At the end, when they're celebrating at Gary's house, Nick returns the repaired pen to Judy, showing the resilience and strength of their relationship. This is what was needed to definitively confirm WildeHopps. Nick tells Judy: "I love you, partner." You don't say that to just anyone, and not with the tenderness he did. It wasn't a joke. It was serious. And for Judy to keep repeating that audio afterward with her pen, it means something. For me, I see a relationship developing gradually and naturally towards an inevitable romance. As someone who's been in the fandom for 9 years and has shipped them for 9 years, I'm very satisfied with the movie. Nick and Judy care deeply for each other and love each other profoundly. They know each other's every flaw, and yet they chose each other as life partners. They are willing to improve and grow together. They won't give up on each other. It's a lifelong commitment. Thank you for reading this far. OBS: Nibbles and Gary are wonderful characters, with their own beauty, simplicity and kindness. I loved them. #zootopia2 #zootopia #wildehopps

@sidneyfmn Love to read this and that how much in common Judy and Nick actually have and how much emotional support they both provide for one another, with Nick never abandoning Judy in danger and Judy in return giving Nick a new turn of leaf in his life, thus helping them to fall in love.

Nick and Judy - What Makes Their Love Work? - Part 1 I wrote this in September/2025. I hope you like. In my first text about the two, I ended up speaking in a more personal way about what they represent to me over the 9 years since I first watched the film, and how I've maintained a great love for them all this time, thanks to the incredible fandom that still produces content today. Knowing that for 9 years, the fandom has been the only source of Nick and Judy's romantic content and that we are close to seeing the story happen and the two become official with the new movie is very exciting. The wait and the effort for so long was worth it. To you, artists who still produce content today, know that you are amazing. I've loved Nick and Judy as my favorite fictional couple since the first time I saw the film, and for me, there is something different and deeper about them that I want to detail here. I say this because there are other couples I really like too, such as all of them in the Lion King franchise, Bolt and Mittens from the movie Bolt, and the couples in the Lady and the Tramp franchise. The ones I've delved into the most over the years are Nick and Judy, because of the fandom. It's as if every fanart and comic is a part of their personality, because have you noticed that the two are never portrayed in exactly the same way? It's always slightly different, but in the end, it's still portraying the same characters, giving a depth to each one that allowed me to write the fanfics I have today. Based on this, I want to describe in detail what makes their love work so well, and why an entire fandom loves them to this day. I first want to start with what I thought early on when the movie was released. Back then, I had a simpler view. What attracted me from the beginning was the improbability of the romance happening. They are different species, predator and prey—theoretically it was impossible—but it was so well-built in the film and with such good chemistry that it felt natural to see them as a couple. I believed their romance would be unique and the first of its kind in the city; I even wrote a fanfic thinking about that. Afterward, I matured the idea over the years, because of the incredible comics I read, especially concerning each other's feelings, which you can understand just by analyzing the film, but I won't just stick to that; I will go further. I want to start with Nick. Recalling the film, he lived on the streets running scams for many years and really gives the impression that he had given up on a better life because he believed he would never be seen as trustworthy for being a fox. Until a rabbit unexpectedly entered his life. She was the first animal who saw him beyond just a mere fox, she saw beyond a stereotype. She showed him that he could be better, and he became a better person because of it. With her, he felt comfortable opening up to someone for the first time, not entirely, but even partially. Nick was always kind, loving, caring, and protective, but he never had the chance to be who he really is until he met Judy. He has a playful way of being like an emotional barrier to protect himself from the traumas he's had, but with her, he didn't need that. He could be himself. For Nick, Judy is the light that was missing in his life, she is the love he didn't expect to find, and a friend he didn't know he needed, but now can't live without. It's easy to understand why he fell in love with her and cares so much. Now regarding Judy, let's start from the beginning. When she arrived in Zootopia, she was alone and had to manage even without anyone's support, only her parents from a distance. Starting a career she always dreamed of, but she had no support within the service itself, even though she gave her best every day. No one believed she would be a real police officer. If it weren't for her first job as a traffic warden, perhaps she would never have met Nick. On another day at work, she found Nick and, without knowing it was just another one of his scams, she helped, only to later discover the truth. She probably thought she wouldn't see him again after that day, but fate had other plans. He became the only clue to investigate one of the missing mammals cases, and so Judy had to convince him to help. Even he, initially, didn't believe in her or the investigation and did everything to be released or to cause more trouble, up to a certain point. I believe it is from this moment that Judy saw Nick differently. After almost losing their lives to Manchas the jaguar, Judy nearly lost her badge, but Nick didn't let her. For the first time, someone defended her since she arrived in the city, someone was on her side, and from where she least expected it. At that moment he could have left but chose to stay. Here she already saw that Nick was different, especially after he spoke about his childhood. She saw that they weren't so different after all, both rejected by society. After that interview following the solved case, Judy wanted Nick as her police partner, but she knew she had messed up in the interview and had hurt him. There she had lost the only one who trusted and helped her throughout the investigation. It's easy to understand her regret. Without him, there was nothing left. Even with the prestige she gained, it didn't make sense if the one who helped wasn't by her side. Therefore, when she discovered the truth about the flowers, the first thing she did was look for him to apologize, even if it didn't work out, it would be her last chance. Luckily for her, Nick always had a good heart enough to accept Judy's apology. With one last chance to fix things, Judy saw Nick's protective side, because, even when she asked, he didn't abandon her at the museum, staying by her side until the end. She saw that even when she made some mistakes, being a bit stubborn and insistent, he was still there, by her side. Her career was saved because of him, even though she never asked. Nick became her safe harbor when she didn't know she needed one; he became her friend when she needed someone; he showed a gentle and caring love she hadn't known until then, and now she can't live without. It's possible to understand why Judy fell in love with him. He had reasons to leave but chose to stay. She could have gone after anyone, but she went after him. It's already written that they were made for each other. If that's not love, I don't know what is. I hope you like it. #Zootopia2 #Zootopia #Wildehopps

@literaphobe When I look upon these two, I can clearly see them being more than just friends. The dynamics and chemistry between them and the signs of them being in love with each other goes way beyond of their relationship to be just platonic. 🐰❤️🦊

i hate the ‘wildehopps shouldn’t be canon bc why can’t men & women just be friends!’ argument bc ppl don’t say that about action movies where the hero gets w some random guy/girl they spoke to for 2 min bc het pairing. meanwhile in zootopia 1&2… nick & judy’s dynamic IS the plot
