Uganda’s bigger problem is not NRM. Not NUP. Not FDC. These can be sorted. The silent and dangerous enemy is the growing culture of not wishing anyone to progress in any way. It’s breaking Uganda at the core- social fabric.

I spent the afternoon at Kololo with the security forces thanking them for their excellent work during the NAM and G77+ China summits. It's essential to recognise that our ability to manage and celebrate this achievement is mainly due to the NRM’s doctrine on security. The success can be attributed in part to our strategy of army building, which emphasises patriotism over careerism. We don't join the army or police for money! We are soldiers and peace officers first and foremost because of our love for Uganda. This doctrine has allowed us to recruit large numbers.

I am here in Kisozi, deworming my cattle. Yesterday, I was on a point where I could watch Katonga bridge (Gomba side- upstream). We the Gomba and allied People of Butambala, Ssembabule, etc., are happy to have given Uganda and East Africa an alternative route when the Katonga Bridge, near the Equator, flooded. I saw so many trucks, buses, etc., yesterday-crossing the Katonga Bridge of Gomba. The cattle industry of Uganda will be a big money earner for dairy and beef.

Additional good news , is that Ginga (Bazukulu’s name for Jajja Janet), clocked 75 years, today, the 24th of June. She was born on this day in 1948, at Bwongyera when her father was a Gombolola chief there. Congratulations, Ginga. This is a lady who, for 12 years (1974 - 1986), helped a frequently absentee husband, to raise a wonderful family that is at present comprised of very responsible parents and wonderful grand- children. The beneficiary absentee husband of 1974-1986, is yours truly, Yoweri Museveni, member of Fronasa and the NRA. I praise the Lord God for protecting her and prospering her. While in Sweden, 1983-1986, she was also an active member of the NRM branch there. The Ugandans know what she has been contributing to the country since 1986. I praise the Lord God for her life.
