I'm not really sure how to phrase this, but yes you can. I can count on my hand how many top players consistently get more than 1 tie at events. Which means that you might not have time every round, but you should have time most rounds. The ceiling is also that ties pretty much don't exist if you're fast enough. My tie rate this season is 1 out of between 350-400 tournament matches played, and that tie was honestly my fault cause I overestimated my opponent's pace of play. Saying it's out of your control feels strange to me, but outside of that then sure

This is true, you don't need a lunch break if you're playing fast enough and you're prepared enough. Problem with the post is that there is no advice given for either of these things in the post or the comments, and that pisses people off. Y'all know I could yap about pace of play for hours and have done so in the past and will do so again, so I'll spare you the details for now. Preparation is really important, especially in America as your events are genuinely awful when it comes to food and access to grocery stores is nigh impossible if you're flying in. Bring food and bring a water bottle. Bring it on the flight if you need to. Most of you are flying with checked luggage anyways, so bring a loaf of bread, a jar of peanut butter, jam and a knife. Suddenly you have smaller meals accessible whenever you need it. If you cut the sandwiches in half you should have time to eat literally between every single round. My personal go-to is always hummus and tortillas as they're consistently avaliable everywhere in different flavours to fight flavour fatigue, you can eat the amount you want without scarfing down a massive meal because you're a little hungry and it doesn't mess with my blood sugar or similar. This is a non-issue for people who are prepared and know how to deal with it. Please prepare yourself and know what works for your body
