I know nothing about it. 🤷🏼 I do hope it’s a real @wizards_magic deck. 🤨Though they should redo the card as he looks like he didn’t have his @KelloggsUS #RaisinBran that morning and will have some trouble boldly “going”! 🚽😉🤣
Fillmore@misterfillmore

@WilliamShatner - As a huge fan of yours and also of the game Magic the Gathering, I was just curious if you had any thoughts on your upcoming card in the game! Thank you sir!

In just the first five months of 2026, nine major shrines and temples have burned across Japan. ・January 15: Suga Shrine, Kitakyushu, Fukuoka ・February 7: Horenji, Matsuyama, Ehime ・February 13: Hottoji, Kuma Highland, Ehime — 1 person died ・February 20: Shorinji, Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi — 5 people died ・April 24: Renshoji, Toyama City, Toyama ・April 27: Uruwashitsune Shrine, Nabari, Mie ・May 6: Furumachi Atago Shrine, Niigata City, Niigata ・May 16: Daishoji, Takaoka, Toyama ・May 20: Reikaido at Itsukushima Shrine, Hatsukaichi, Hiroshima (World Heritage site) These are not ordinary fires. Many of these sacred places had stood for hundreds — some over a thousand — years. I’m not a politician. I’m not an activist. I’m just an ordinary Japanese who loves this country. Every time I see another irreplaceable piece of our history and culture go up in flames, I feel a quiet fear. Japan was supposed to be the one place where this kind of thing almost never happened. When did our temples and shrines start burning one after another?

The spreadsheet math on this is brutal. She left roughly $54 million on the table. Yet she probably just made the best financial decision of her life. $1M in an S&P 500 index fund at age 20 compounds to approximately $58M in inflation-adjusted terms by age 80. The historical real return is about 7% annually over 97 years of data. Her annuity pays $52,000 a year. Over 60 years that totals $3.1M. The gap is 18x. Every finance account in these replies will tell you she's wrong. The compounding math is clear. Take the lump sum, put it in VOO, don't touch it for 60 years. The Certified Financial Planner Board says roughly a third of lottery winners declare bankruptcy within five years. Illinois court records show 28% of winners who won $50K or more went bankrupt in the same window. The average winner spends 60% of their winnings on family and friends in the first two years. She's 20. Peak impulsivity, minimal financial literacy, and every person she's ever met just found out she has a million dollars in her checking account. The $1M doesn't go into a Vanguard account. It goes into the most socially pressured spending environment a human being can occupy. $1,000 a week is a permanent $52K salary, tax-free in Canada, that arrives whether she makes good decisions or catastrophic ones. Can't be drained by a partner. Can't be lost to a scam. Can't be "invested" in a cousin's restaurant. Shows up every Friday for the rest of her life. The spreadsheet says lump sum by 18x. The data on what actually happens to people who receive $1M at 20 says she just bought the most expensive insurance policy in lottery history, and it was worth every dollar she gave up.
DividendBoomer@BoomerDivvies

An 20-year-old Canadian girl won $1M (tax free in Canada) in the lottery and chose $1,000/week instead of the lump sum. Is this wise or the worst financial decision of her life? What are you doing when this happens to you??

Another Shinto Shrine has been burned down. This time it was the Urufushine Shrine in Nabari City, Mie Prefecture. This Shinto Shrine was over 1000 years old, survived everything natural disasters, civil wars & even WW ll but it couldn't survive diversity.

Why is there suddenly such an aggressive push against American data centers and AI infrastructure? After seeing a major spike in coordinated opposition campaigns around our Utah projects, we conducted a digital audit and traced a large amount of the activity back to an organization called Alliance for a Better Utah, which has been pushing misinformation throughout Box Elder County about our data center developments. What’s even more concerning is where the funding appears to originate. After reviewing IRS Form 990 filings and tracing the network behind it, the money appears tied to Chinese linked funding channels connected through an organization called Arabella. Think about the incentive, if China is racing to dominate AI and compute capacity, why wouldn’t they want to slow American infrastructure down?

“WE NEED TO LET THEM DO INSIDER TRADING TO FEED THEIR FAMILIES” That was the actual argument just made in defense of politicians trading stocks. Members of Congress make $174,000 a year. The median American income is roughly $63,000. (3x less) Meanwhile the federal minimum wage is $7.25 an hour… also unchanged since 2009. And you’re seriously being told politicians need access to insider trading to survive. The system is designed to lead earth to neo-feudalism. And it’s becoming more brazen by the year. Asset ownership consolidates upward. Living standards decline downward. The middle class gets squeezed from both ends and disappears while the elite class accumulates more wealth, more influence, and more protection. Leaving behind a permanent underclass. And a permanent political-financial aristocracy at the top…

@elonmusk Data centers only bring in money for the local economy during the construction phase. Once they're up and running they're pretty self sufficient and require very few workers.

I was a kid in the 90s, and by the time I was 12 I had stayed at my friends houses hundreds of nights for sleepovers. My friends stayed with me hundreds of nights for sleepovers. Video games. Making home movies. Snacks. Bewshittin'. My sons are 8 and 12 and neither of them have ever been to a sleepover. Neither of them have ever tried to get one cooking at my house. And don't get me wrong - I do NOT want other kids at my house. But I wouldn't deny my kids the opportunity to make those memories. Are sleepovers just not a thing anymore? What is going on?

DISGRACEFUL: Pete Davidson made a disgusting Charlie Kirk joke at Kevin Hart’s roast. "Tony reminds me of Charlie Kirk, and that's he's definitely been on camera letting a guy unload in his throat.” That wasn’t comedy. That was vile and completely beneath the belt.

“Billions in taxpayer money flow through Congress as they work just 133 days and earn $174K salaries. What are we paying for?” $810M in allowances, up to 18 staffers each, massive operating costs. Billions in waste with nothing to show for it. This is institutionalized fraud.

🚨 HOLY CRAP. A FOREIGN PRIME MINISTER just told American media YOUR war isn't over, and casually floated sending YOUR sons into Iran to grab uranium. NETANYAHU: "It's not over." "You go in and you take it out." REPORTER: With what? Special forces from Israel? From the United States? "I'm not going to talk about military means, but what President Trump has said to me, I want to go in there." "I think it can be done physically." REPORTER: How long? "I'm not going to give a timetable." So a foreign leader sets the mission, dodges the means, refuses a timeline, and YOUR kids fight it. YOUR taxes fund it. YOUR dollar inflates for it. This is Israel dictating YOUR foreign policy. Reject it. 🟧🦍

To those considering moving to Japan, let me be honest with you. Last week, a 300-year-old shrine in Niigata burned down. It wasn't the first. Shrines, pig farms, graveyards, set on fire and desecrated. Things we've quietly protected for centuries are disappearing, one after another. If you cannot honor our gods, please don't come. If you cannot eat pork, please don't come. If you cannot accept cremation, please don't come. This is a sincere request from us. If you come to Japan, you will be unhappy, and so will we.
