According to our data in March the net gains of the Russian Armed Forces in Ukraine were approximately 25km² This is slightly more from than it was in February, a net negative, but the Russian offensive momentum has clearly dimimished compared to late 2025. 1/

In February, the Russian monthly net gains in Ukraine turned negative. Over the whole month, the Russians lost 37 km² of territory in Ukraine. This is the first net loss since November of 2023, and the worst month for Russia in terms of territory since August of 2023. 1/

Over the month of January Russian net gains in Ukraine were 389km². This is a modest increase from December, although the months are largely similar. Russian advance in January consisted of incremental gains on multiple fronts, without significant operational achievements.

I think it goes without saying that today’s Ukrainian strikes against Russian air forces are impressive and devastating. While the exact scale of damage will likely be confirmed with satellite footage over the coming days, it is quite likely that considerable portion of Russian strategic bombers and other aviation assets were destroyed or damaged. 1/

Näillä kyvykkyyksillä Iran ja Venäjä ovat mahdollistaneet ainakin kohteiden seurannan ja maalittamisen laajemmalla merialueella. Iskujen kohteina olleiden laivojen ja yritysten yhteydet Israeliin ovat olleet vaihetelevia, toisinaan jopa kaukaa haettuja.

@EUNAVFORASPIDES Vessel's command bridge seems to be burnt as well. Although I'm not an expert on the matter, I would guess it has burnt from the inside. Quite possibly the navigational equipment was intentionally destroyed.

@EUNAVFORASPIDES images show the vessel anchored and burning. It appears the ships tank hatches and piping is on fire, with oil/burnt residue spilling on deck. Fully loaded, she will burn for a while. I hope the structural integrity will hold.

Update on M/V SOUNION: The M/V SOUNION has been on fire since August 23rd. EUNAVFOR ASPIDES 🇪🇺 operating assets in the area have reported that there are fires detected in several locations on the main deck of the vessel. There’s no oil spill, and the ship is still anchored and not drifting. All passing vessels in the vicinity are required to proceed with utmost caution, as the M/V SOUNION poses both a navigational risk and a serious and imminent threat of regional pollution. To avert a catastrophic environmental crisis, EU NAVAL FORCES ASPIDES, in coordination with European authorities, is assessing the situation and stands ready to facilitate any courses of action.
