That “lore reason” shit for not explaining the design change is such a cop out because you know for a fact Scott didn’t actually have a proper explanation. He just made the Scraptrap model cause he wanted to.

I hate Nexpo videos based on real events. He claims them to be educational and documentaries but there is nothing to be taught except revelling in awful tragedies of the world. Slow drawn out creepy vhs effects overlayed on people who have gone through hell.

@VaporeonVapor Something especially ridiculous is that we don't know what the name of the crying child is and he's like the most important character. People just kind of accept it at this point but in any other context I feel like this would be seen as really really stupid.

@VaporeonVapor There's so many questions he cant answer and then he just never does expecting not to fatigue people even though we don't really know anything for certain at this rate.

@dreamywolfdd I ultimately think it would be made better by NPCs, but mostly because I like the idea of having people in my game to appreciate my work like Half-Life scientists. The villagers have never really done it for me, and the most I see of them is just villager trading room slaves.

@dreamywolfdd I also just think the simplicity and focus on “building is your goal, just use the world as your canvas” gives it a very comforting feeling.

You've probably bought a cookie from a bakery made by hands that have done unspeakable things. Every chocolate bar you've ever eaten has probably killed a 7 year old child slave in Cameroon. The gas that drives your car is fueled by engines of death. Every person who has ever smiled at you in the streets has committed some act that if you knew about it, would make you profoundly dislike them. We have all been bad, small, petty, unlikeable, cruel, downright mean. Authors are not special "problematic" beings, they're just more public. Part of being an adult is recognizing that without mercy for our fellow human beings, and ourselves, we'd all be condemned to death. Reading fiction should help us understand that we're all irreparably tainted with evil, every system is corrupted, every line is broken. And like, that's okay. That's what it means to be alive.
