Not one of them is showing any urgency to put out the fire. The same tree they were so fervently praying to. Shows you how performative all of these rituals really are. Meaningless.

Everything was fine initially, but some women decided to light clay lamps (diyas) 🪔close to the tree! Really sad to see such an ancient Vat tree burning because of the stupidity of a few #VatSavitri #वटसावित्री

Our economy is in real trouble, but the government isn’t openly accepting it. Earlier, when India was smaller economy , we could manage problems easily. Now we are one of the world’s top economies, so mistakes hurt much more. We are buying way more from other countries than we are selling. Even simple things like furniture, toys, cutlery , and even statues of Lord Ram and Krishna are coming from China. This creates a big current account deficit. Earlier, foreigners used to invest heavily in India, which helped cover this gap. Now they are pulling out their money because the environment doesn’t feel safe. So both accounts are in deficit, current account is also in deficit and capital account is also in deficit, putting heavy pressure on the rupee. The government doesn’t want the rupee to fall because of political and economic reasons , but it may go to 100 per dollar soon if things don’t improve. RBI is trying hard to hold it at 95-96, but it can’t last forever. The PM’s appeal to reduce gold buying is good, but with global prices rising, it won’t have much effect. Global experts on bullion markets are saying that gold may touch 9000 dollars by mid 29 so Indian investors will not stop importing gold even with 15% duty. This is simple business and economic. What should govt do now ? First, the government must honestly admit there is a serious financial crisis. Petrol and diesel prices should have been increased by at least rupees 20 because the rupee fall has already wiped out small hikes of rupees 3 in petrol and diesel . This I am not saying but SBI largest bank of india is saying officially. RBI is doing its job professionally and taking corrective measures but there is a limit of everything. Rupee is bound to fall below 100 soon. It is difficult to stop it. Govt must stop freebies immediately. Provide ration to EWS. Don’t provide this free drug habit to our countrymen otherwise state government would not be able to salaries to their employees. Govt must stop major projects for few months. Stop bothering heavily from World bank or IMF or any other institution of the world. These are basic things to follow. Bring schemes to boost foreign investors. Our stock market is highly overvalued because of punters in the stock market. We also need strong diplomacy with Iran so our oil ships can safely pass through the Strait of Hormuz.@DILIPtheCHERIAN @iamnarendranath @MishraPrac @JournoAshutosh @SarveshMishra_ @bainjal @rohini_sgh @suhasinih @vijaita @maryashakil @ShekharGupta @NidhiKulpati5 @latha_venkatesh @ShereenBhan @nsitharaman @PMOIndia @TweepleLeaf @jainsarthak4 @RBI

It’s seems like My coaching career comes to an end after 1.5 years, during which we played 5 tournaments and secured 5 podium finishes, including a Junior World Cup bronze medal. I have heard about coaches getting fired after bad performances. But this is the first time I am experiencing being removed to make way for a foreign coach. The Hockey India President stated that the chief coach of the senior men’s team prefers a foreign head coach for the junior team, believing it will help develop Indian hockey from the junior level through to the senior level. Hence, the continued preference for foreign coaches — Can’t Indian coaches develop Indian hockey? On 07-03-2026, during a meeting with the Hon’ble Sports Minister Shri Mansukh Mandaviya, I was told, “Sreejesh, we need coaches like you to step up and lead our country as we prepare for 2036.” However, Hockey India continues to place its trust in foreign coaches over Indian ones across all four teams. @mansukhmandviya @PMOIndia @TheHockeyIndia @Media_SAI @WeAreTeamIndia @DGSAI @DilipTirkey

The NEET-UG 2026 exam, held on May 3 by NTA for 22.79 lakh students (over 23 lakh aspirants across India and abroad), is mired in fresh paper-leak allegations. A guess paper ,seized in Rajasthan, allegedly matched 100-140 questions, triggering Rajasthan SOG probe; NTA @NTA_Exams was first trying to side line the issue but seeing the pressure and genuinely leak of the paper finally cancelled the whole exam. This mirrors the 2024 scandal: leaks in Bihar and Jharkhand saw proofs surface, petitions reached Supreme Court, yet then-CJI- justice Chandrachud led bench refused full cancellation, ruling the breach non-systemic despite 155+ beneficiaries; CBI probed but results stood for most honest candidates. I witnessed the entire solid arguments were put before CJI but he refused to cancel the exams for reasons best known to him. Fact of the matter is paper was leaked at various centres. CJI should have taken affidavits from each and every DGP and chief secretary of the state to give undertaking that no paper has been leaked in their state. All 23 lakh students are affected, uncertainty delays counselling for ~1 lakh MBBS seats, forcing re-preparation or lost year. Mental health toll is severe: relentless anxiety, sleep loss, depression from shattered trust and “wasted” years of 12-16 hour study grind erode morale. Many face demotivation, family pressure, and in extreme cases, suicidal ideation amid cut-throat competition. Handing to CBI offers probe but past inaction fuels systemic distrust; honest aspirants feel betrayed, deepening frustration with the flawed exam ecosystem. Two three accused will be arrested and who would also be released on bail in few months for lack of evidence. Trial will carry on for decades. We are living in a rotten world where people are very greedy and system is very rotten. To hell with this bloody system. @DILIPtheCHERIAN @iamnarendranath @JournoAshutosh @bainjal @rohini_sgh @suhasinih @vijaita @dpradhanbjp @PMOIndia @MishraPrac @BDUTT @sardesairajdeep @Smita_Sharma @NidhiKulpati5 @TweepleLeaf

Every IPL match is a humongous expense on electricity (in stadia) and fuel (in lakhs of vehicles), and wastes precious incomes of lakhs of people (that must be conserved now, given massive economic uncertainty). And anyway, who earns from IPL? Only the super-rich. Scrap all IPL matches right away. Save energy. Save electricity. Save Indian economy.

Muthu ji, your political views are your own - but please do speed up the returns on my investments. 😃
Muthukrishnan Dhandapani@dmuthuk

Not going to share any personal details. Just want to highlight how perception is different from reality. This is not to support any political party or leader. Want to let you know things are not as they look. In 2013, my client who was professionally working for Rahul Gandhi suggested my name to him to handle his mutual fund investments. From 2013, when UPA 2 was in power to till date when Vijay was sworn in with Congress support, Rahul continues to be my client for mutual fund investments. We have exchanged many mails and has spoken over phone lot of times. And as you are aware, I've been a strong Modi supporter from 2014 to 2024. Never once Rahul or his office staff brought that subject to me. I believe my tweets are regularly seen by his staff. They clearly differentiate between my professional service and political beliefs. And in every single conversation I've with Rahul, he addresses me with respect and never behaved in any haughty manner. Despite knowing my BJP support, he took my input few years ago for choosing a key professional . This post may lead to Rahul terminating our professional relationship. That's ok. Everything should end one day. Wanted to post this to show how main stream media and IT cells of parties can make someone look completely inhuman. I do not know Rahul Gandhi as a politician. Based on last 14 years interaction, all I can say is he respect professionals a lot and a nice human being to interact with. Don't go by media or IT cells - for any party that matter.

All said and done, #Stalin exited with grace and dignity. On May 4, after it was clear #DMK lost the election, he visited the party office to meet and thank party workers. A visibly tired and emotional Stalin was seen leaving the office that evening. On May 5th, he visited Kolathur, the constituency that defeated him, met the public and thanked them for their support. Crowds surrounded him with slogans and tears, making the visit almost look like a victory rally.
