A small but meaningful change in our rural school at Ullagadewadi village Children now sit on Vidyasan - mats stitched by our rural women trainees from fabric cut pieces and read books from the newly set-up school library. When rural women create, rural children benefit.

Two years ago, we met a group of women in Chikkodi, Belgaum. Many were in debt. Some had never thought about savings or budgeting. We spent 2 days together learning the basics of financial literacy through @ZerodhaVarsity with the help of Svatah Foundation (@teamsvatah) and Pankh India (@TweetPankh). But instead of stopping there, we kept in touch and continued helping them for 2 years. Today, most of these women are debt-free. For someone from a low-income background, that's true financial independence. This is why we do what we do. 😀

For many, it was the first time they had stepped into a space where women were earning with dignity, learning new techniques, and working together as a team. They asked questions, shared their dreams, and left with one thought “Maybe this could be me someday.”

This week our training center was filled with colorful sarees, warm smiles, and stories of strength. Women from nearby villages visited our skill training unit , curious, hopeful, and eager to learn how lives can change through skills.

One Coat, Two Smiles ! Our annual coat donation drive begins this Children’s Day — November 14! 💛 This year, we’re on a mission to donate 500 coats , each one stitched by a rural woman and gifted to a child in need.

Because empowerment doesn’t always begin with big resources , sometimes it starts with recognizing the value of what you already know. Through these discussions, we continue to nurture small sparks of ideas that can grow into sustainable livelihoods.

In our latest baithak, Gopi led a lively session on how women can turn their everyday skills into enterprises. He shared simple yet powerful examples “If you make great chapatis, start a tiffin center!”
