@_CLancellotti Wishful thinking. Far better you either defend the ground you stand on, that it is best to be what you are and embrace your nature, or else be whatever you suppose the victor to be. But to say you will lose but rise from the dead later as the winner? lmao

@John_Attridge Based. It gets better: "causation" is not just unknowable, it's utter nonsense when you realise that everything is what it is in its own right. Who heard of one thing "causing" another, distinct thing to be what it is, as if it could be anything else, lmao. It's called Identity.

Bro wake up. Awake from your dogmatic slumber. Causation is unknowable lol. Inductive reasoning has no basis in objective reality lmao

@Im_human_too_ Well, the question is whether we're admitting there's a universe. If we're happy about that, then its all a done deal. If not... well I suppose the first question is "you say there is a "creator" and a "creation", what is the name of both of them taken together, as a whole?" 🤷‍♂️

@Tweetophon This is probably all there is and the idea of a creator could just be that. I still don't know enough to fully accept that and that could be part of the design. It'd make sense if we have a powerful and all knowing god. How could we know more than the creator?

The universe is the greatest piece of art. Like all art, it has to have an artist. Has to. This can't all be random

@Im_human_too_ Indeed, but my point is that the question is dissolved: once we grasp that there's a "universe" then we can't posit an artist/creator "beyond the universe".

Ultimately everything is insignificant, and that is alright! That means you get to decide what is significant!

@LukewarmDrinker @PunishedAbammon @Hyperaionian Let's not drag monism into this mess. What is "reductive" about a big beautiful blobject (pbuh) that subsumes literally everything? Where is the "nihilism" in something full of all possible meaning, and how could Epicureans have a monopoly on something so all-inclusive? 🌌

@steveinpursuit What are fundamental rules here? If reality is a complete whole, and thus all the moments/arrangements are present, I suppose the rules would describe some broad shape or flow of that story. But hopefully nobody is positing metaphysical generation or becoming.

You don't get "emergent order" from chaos without fundamental rules of interaction. i.e. there is no such thing as truly "chaotic interaction"

@Tool_Being I suppose the question is whether they actually do speak with clarity and precision. Reject that premise and they will appear rather muddleheaded and schizoid.

I just don’t see how Plato and Heidegger speak with such clarity and precision on matters not accessible to the senses without a touch of the schizoid.

@Tweetophon @BillGrahamtoo @johncwright2001 They lack "big picture thinking" You mean literal science....are you serious mate...? "They lack (insert abstraction)." Meanwhile some of the most abstract thinkers are religious. You're making such a vague argument. 😂 but I'm glad you're so confidently obtuse.

@ted_huang Interesting. It seems Zhuang Zhou's BFF, Hui Shi, had a similar term for the same thing: 宙合。maybe im crazy, but if you look at the tianxia chapter of zz and then the zhouhe chapter of guanzi, there's similar language and it's a term which sums up reality.

Zhuangzi (莊子) was more philosophical on the universe 宇宙 (space-time): 宇 'Yu' is real space but has no fixed location; 宙 'Zhou' is real continuum but has no beginning or end. Space and time thus manifest the boundless, ungraspable quality of existence

Space and time is conceptualised by ancient chinese with the term 宇宙 (spatial and temporal extension). Shizi defines it as: - 四方上下曰宇,往古来今曰宙 - The four directions with up-and-down is called 宇 (yu) - The going-past and coming-present is called 宙 (zhou) 1/
