@RHarrabin @Buzz_dont_tweet @RSPBNews Mid Wales is fairly good for insects. Loads of bumblebees, some butterflies and our honeybees in our garden and I’ve also noticed lots of bumblebees in the uplands too. If I sit in the grass in the uplands there are plenty of insects to observe in a short period of time.

@MichelleEliass1 I used an app called 'Calm' - not for the guided meditations etc but for background music. Basically all of the 'for work' playlists put me in a state of focus. No idea how it worked - maybe like creating a white noise so my brain could focus? Good luck!

@love_kitkat 🧵 it takes much longer and I generally go through their job spec and write a short statement on each point, sometimes using STAR, sometimes not. I did loads of training on applying for jobs in 2016 - happy to send you examples or meet you in Christmas hols to run through it?

@love_kitkat Hey Katie, it depends! If I’ve filled in application form I generally keep the cover letter short and sweet with the main reason I would be suitable for the job (no more than a paragraph). If it’s a CV and cover letter type thing then it takes longer… 🧵

@dictioca That’s right, Ulva is the predominant genus reported in peer reviewed journals. I guess it’s unlikely that there’s a lot of other events going unreported, but it’s possible 🤷🏼‍♀️. Full details here: sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Ulva is the main genus responsible for macroalgae bloom events globally. Brilliant talk by @TwentyMoreFish on interactions between macroalgae density / abundance (mapped by drone) and birds behaviour in Milford Haven #BPS2022

I have realised I now know 2 groups of people: The forehead acquaintances - who become strangers the minute their chin and nose are exposed! The Full-facial acquaintances who develop an unrecognisable disguise the moment they put their mask on!

First ever conference talk is done ✅ Get in touch with me if you have available historical data of kelp populations from the SW available (especially #Laminariaochroleuca). Thanks 😊 #networking🕸️ #BPS2022
Kasper Brandt@KMFBrandt

Up next making her conference debut is @nora_mare: She compared historical data on kelp forests with current observations. Who are the winners and who are the losers when facing climate change and heatwaves? If you have data on English kelp forests let her know! #bps2022

Is bird the word? It is when it comes to macroalgal blooms according to findings by @TwentyMoreFish! She's been flying drones in Pembrokeshire to see if birds like hanging out on top of algae. #BPS2022
