To state the obvious (but being forgotten by many), we didn’t need to go to war to open the Strait of Hormuz. It was already open. To claim this outcome as a war achievement is paradoxical.

I'll repeat myself in saying that when I was active duty from 1984-1988, Iran wasn't just shutting down the Strait at that time, they were also blowing up ships with mines. That was 40 years ago. If nothing else from Trump's actions today, he has taught the world how to handle Iran shutting down the Strait. I really don't think you're capable of understanding that. The ultimate goal will be to help the Iranian people regain their freedom. At a minimum, whoever is in charge right now, knows what's in store for them in the future based on their predecessors' fate.
