The Odyssey is the kind of movie where a character in the Bronze Age actually says “the Age of Bronze is ending.” The dialogue is like this throughout. You cannot have genuinely shit dialogue in a “masterpiece” film.

One of my favorite classes in college was titled "The Hero's Journey" and it was a deep dive into classical Greek mythology, including Homer's "The Odyssey" To this day it is one of my favorite classes I have ever taken and has instilled in me a true appreciation for the art that the Greeks developed. I think it is why I have such a strong reaction to the crime that is Wilson's and Nolan's The Odyssey..

Communist China is buying our land, infiltrating our institutions, and undermining our national security. End the student visas. Ban Chinese farmland purchases. Keep them out of our election systems. Rip Chinese solar off American soil. They are not our friends.

🚨 HOLY HELL Minnesota is way DARKER than anyone thought. A Somali refugee just blew the entire welfare racket wide open. He says they TOLD him to refuse assimilation and jump straight onto Section 8 and government benefits. That’s the “system.” “I was told to go find discounted housing, get on Section 8, sign up for community benefits.” And when he suggested actually integrating? His own community ATTACKED him. “The community treated welfare like a way of life. I said we can do better. They said no.” He came here at 29, fully aware of what he escaped in Somalia. And even HE is shocked at the fraud and rot in Minnesota. Massive respect to Abdi Iftin for exposing what Democrats desperately try to hide.

@travelingflying It's trying to associate meritocracy with white privilege, as if achieving something by merit is a signal of privilege..

I'm glad you liked it. If you enjoy it, go see it. I am genuinely curious: what did you actually like about it? The stand I'm taking is on the defense of Homer's Odyssey rather than taking Wilson's adaptation of the Odyssey that Noam has used for his film. If Nolan had used a scholarly translation of the Odyssey, it could have been a very good story in my opinion. I would have loved to see an Odyssey adaptation that looked like 300..

@TwistedSixty4 @ObviousRises Taking a stand over a movie That’s a noble cause 😂 We will all be dirt one day and this is the hill you chose to stand on. Being mad over 10 minutes of a 3 hour movie that took nothing away from how entertaining it is & the sold out crowds I have watched it with twice already

BREAKING: The Odyssey is FAKING ticket sales by buying up theaters/seats (Fraud) to make the movie look like a success (already $400 million in the hole) moviegoers are reporting having to take terrible seats (because full) but when they show up the theaters are mostly empty.

To many people blindly follow evolution because it brings them comfort. Religion is about being uncomfortable and accepting it to look deeper. It takes courage to look into the uncomfortable places in life. I'm proud of you. If you want to know more about Jesus let me know! I have tried to be a follower since I was in highschool.

🇯🇵 Around the world, humanity speaks many spiritual languages, and I find wisdom in all of them. My family’s roots are in Shinto, yet I believe curiosity should be free to explore the words and life of Jesus Christ without the boundaries of belief. Lately, I have been fascinated by Leonardo da Vinci’s sfumato technique, the way he softened edges and blended light into shadow to reveal not just a face, but a soul. When I photograph myself, I sometimes draw from his method, using sunlight as he used his brush, allowing reality to dissolve into subtle gradations. In this sense, the Mona Lisa is not so different from faith. Both invite us to look deeper, beyond the surface, into mystery itself. Like da Vinci’s art, the story of Jesus is not confined to a single frame; it is a light that seeps into every shade of human experience. For me, truth is not a single statue in a single temple, but a light refracted through many windows, each revealing another facet of the same eternal beauty.

Here's a real shocker: the media censors views they don't agree with!
MR. OBVIOUS@ObviousRises

A user HACKED Rotten Tomatoes on the asmongold subreddit (parsed the json data) and found the REAL REVIEW SCORE for Christopher Nolan's film The Odyssey and discovered that out of 886 active users only 498 rated it positivity leaving the true score around: 56.2% A score of 97% is mathematically impossible (combined with faked ticket sales) and this is looking more and more like widespread FRAUD by the Hollywood Industry on a MASSIVE scale. Interestingly enough, 56.2% is not far off from the Metacritic data which has normal reviewers (non critics/bots) which rate the film at 51%. Needless to say despite the reported numbers/revenue (and opening at box office numbers) its looking like smoke and mirrors, the film is being propped up to LOOK like a success but in reality is a CATACLYSMIC financial failure. (might not even break even) I also have a sneaking suspicion they are manipulating ticket sales buy preordering tickets and very likely canceling those orders at the very last second, otherwise, they are BURNING money ($375 million already) it seems desperate—they are in too deep. If you ask me Movie Theaters should SUE The Odyssey/Christopher Nolan etc. because they are hurting ticket sales with their dummy seats and its causing people to skip the movie (rather than sit in terrible seats) this is Fraud and I think there is room for a MASSIVE Lawsuit. And to think, all of this because they couldn't just RESPECT Greek Culture/Mythology and Historical Fiction and JUST. CAST. PALE. ACTORS. and stay true to the source material.
