Yuk was my PhD advisor. He would take us on "death march" hikes on Saturdays sometimes, followed by dim sum lunch. I have many fond memories of learning from him, though as a grad student I always grumbled about how hard he expected us to work.

One of the biggest lies of modern economics: inflation is key and good I remember hearing that japan was stagnating so when I first visited years ago I expected decay and doom It was fine and people were living well. now that inflation is there people are struggling.

AxelSpace went public on Wednesday on Tokyo Stock Exchange under ticker: TYO:402A. Current market cap 340M USD, raised approx. 50M USD during the process. Company founded in 2008, operated 11 satellites to date. Might do a deep dive next week.

I've made a project called "Shruti" to preserve the memories from fading cultures of India and I invite you to contribute by interviewing your parents/grandparents. My grandmother is 93. After she passes on, so much of cultural memory will also be gone with her - stories, recipes, songs. This is happening all over India. So why not create a repository where we can capture parts of these intangible memories of our country?

@algo_luca @charliermarsh Yes, python code from Claude is usually good but rust is awful, doesn't execute and cannot be fixed by Claude even after much prompting.

@charliermarsh I concur that the type of codebase is part of the issue. I wonder if the language is an additional hurdle too.

I use LLM-assisted tools fairly heavily, but I feel I'm on a slightly different planet when I hear folks talk about using Claude Code et al to make significant changes to existing codebases. I've had little success in uv, at least.
